- Dealers report 85% store conversion, 60%–70% more store visits, and 50,000+ test drives pre-launch.
- About 70% of SU7 buyers skip cross-shopping, with only ~20% mainly comparing Tesla Model 3.
On March 25, Chinese auto media outlet Chefans released a frontline weekly sales report following the launch of the new-generation Xiaomi SU7.
Sales data from retail stores show that the model saw its first wave of order spikes on launch night, with 15,000 locked-in orders within 34 minutes of sales opening. A second wave of concentrated orders followed over the weekend.
Dealer feedback indicates that average locked-in orders per store reached around 75 units, while new store visits increased by 60%–70%. Overall store conversion rates climbed to 85%.

From a timeline perspective, the vehicle was displayed in stores about 10 days before launch, allowing for sufficient consumer pre-heating.
Post-launch pricing largely met market expectations, while improvements in interior quality and test-drive experience drove a significant share of customers to place orders immediately upon visiting stores. Between March 20 and 22 alone, more than 50,000 test drives were recorded.
In terms of customer demographics, the Xiaomi SU7 skews younger, with early buyers primarily aged between 25 and 30.
Female buyers accounted for 45%, while trade-in and upgrade purchases made up 60%–70%.

As the installed base grows, referrals from existing owners and brand retention are beginning to play a role, contributing to 30%–40% of conversions.
Configuration mix remains balanced, with the Standard version accounting for 45%, Pro 30%, and Max 25%.

Buyers in Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities show a stronger preference for higher-spec variants, although no major structural imbalance has emerged.
In terms of color selection, Indigo Green has become the best-selling exterior color, while Flowing Pink has also received positive feedback. Interior choices are led by Mist Purple and Sand Beige, with the latter seeing a rising share.
Competitive dynamics are also shifting. According to dealer feedback, around 70% of potential buyers no longer cross-shop competing brands.

Only about 20% primarily compare the Tesla Model 3, with a smaller portion considering the NIO ET5 and Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
The new-generation Xiaomi SU7 was officially launched on March 19, with three variants priced between RMB 219,900 ($31,900) and RMB 303,900 ($44,090).
First deliveries began on March 23. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun disclosed during the delivery event that locked-in orders for the new SU7 have exceeded 30,000 units.
