On July 21, third-party market research firm CarFans released a 72-hour frontline sales report for the XPeng MONA L03.

The new model officially launched on July 16, with an official price range of RMB 123.8K to RMB 156.8K ($18.3K–$23.2K).

Report data showed that XPeng stores nationwide averaged 60 to 70 locked orders per store, with overall store traffic rising 100% from normal levels after launch, and 85% of visitors showing interest in the XPeng MONA L03.

XPeng L03 order data

According to channel data from China automotive research firm LandRoads, XPeng had 755 stores nationwide as of the first quarter of 2026. Based on this estimate, the L03’s current locked orders may have exceeded 50K.

Combined with XPeng’s official announcement that the L03 secured 46.9K firm orders within one hour of launch, the above estimate is broadly consistent. However, from the one-hour firm orders to the 72-hour locked order estimate, the pace of subsequent order growth appears to have slowed somewhat.

In terms of user demographics, the XPeng MONA L03’s core buyer group is concentrated in the 22 to 32 age range, with female users accounting for about 65%, primarily young, unmarried women with a strong need for daily commuting, and a high proportion of first-time and additional purchases.

Customer profile of XPeng L03

In terms of configuration choices, the pure electric version accounts for 80%, while the range-extender version accounts for 20%.

Among specific trims, the 525 Max version accounts for 30%, the 625 Max for 25%, the 625 Ultra SE for 20%, the 525 Ultra SE for 15%, while the Plus version sees fewer customer choices. Customers generally believe the Max version’s VLA assisted driving features are sufficient to meet daily needs.

XPeng L03 trim preference: 80% EV, 20% EREV.

In terms of colors, Aurora Purple and Crescent Silver are the best-selling exterior colors, while Space Gray is the best-selling interior color.

In terms of competitors, the report said dealers reported low customer comparison intent, mainly because most customers actively visited stores, with purchase decisions driven primarily by exterior design, and they had not previously conducted extensive comparisons with other models, resulting in low competitor mention rates.

Early customers were mainly long-term followers of the XPeng brand, and after launch the car attracted a large number of new customers. Some customers are currently taking a wait-and-see approach, focusing on delivery timelines and feedback from early owners.

XPeng L03

From the data, XPeng delivered 40,126 vehicles in June, up 15.9% year over year and 24.8% month over month. Among them, the M03 contributed about one-third, while the GX continued to ramp up production two months after deliveries began. Together, the two models accounted for roughly half of the month’s total sales.

The newly launched L03 showed strong initial locked orders, but whether it can continue to contribute incremental volume remains to be seen.
