GAC Group Sales Hit 886K Units in Jan-July, Exports Surge 130%

GAC Group reported total vehicle sales of 886K units in the first seven months of 2026, up 1.28% year over year, as new energy vehicles and overseas markets became key growth drivers.

New energy vehicle sales reached 311.7K units during the period, jumping 66.2% year over year. NEV and energy-saving models accounted for 63.96% of GAC Group’s total sales.

Independent brands emerged as the main growth engine. From January to July, GAC’s self-owned brands sold more than 400K vehicles, up 33.31% year over year.

The company’s EV-focused brands, Aion and Hyptec, maintained strong momentum. Combined sales reached 28.8K units in July, up 36.37% year over year. January-July sales totaled 210.4K units, rising 62.08%.

Product momentum continued to build. The Aion i60 maintained monthly sales above 10K units, while the Aion N60 surpassed 12K cumulative deliveries after launch, strengthening its position in the competitive EV segment.

GAC’s premium EV brand AISTALAND delivered its first model, the GT7, at the end of June. The model recorded 2,658 sales in its first month after deliveries began in July. AISTALAND has expanded to nearly 300 stores across more than 90 Chinese cities, with its second model, the GX7, scheduled for launch later this year.

GAC Trumpchi recorded more than 187.1K sales in the first seven months, up 9.83% year over year. In July, the 2027 GAC Trumpchi Xiangwang S7 PHEV entered the market, followed by the fifth-generation GAC Trumpchi GS4.

Joint ventures also maintained steady performance. GAC Toyota sold more than 402.5K vehicles from January to July, with July sales reaching 46.5K units. The Camry, Highlander, and Sienna contributed 22.8K units combined, accounting for 49% of GAC Toyota’s monthly sales.

In the joint-venture EV segment, the Toyota bZ Series delivered 12K units in July. The Toyota bZ3X accounted for 9,546 units, ranking among the top-selling joint-venture new energy models for several consecutive months.

GAC Honda recorded July sales of 11.7K units. The two shareholders recently extended their partnership agreement to 2038. Over the next two years, GAC Honda plans to launch five new models, including locally developed EVs and next-generation hybrid vehicles, accelerating its electrification shift.

Overseas expansion became GAC’s fastest-growing business area. GAC exported 23.6K vehicles in July, up 119% year over year. From January to July, exports of self-owned brands reached 145K units, surging 130% year over year and exceeding the full-year export volume of 2025.

By region, GAC’s overseas sales continued to expand across major markets. In the Americas, retail sales jumped 139% year over year, driven by strong growth in Uruguay, Colombia, Brazil and other markets. In the CIS region, retail sales increased 112%. GAC opened its seventh KD plant in Kazakhstan, where the GS8 has begun local production.

Sales in the Asia-Pacific region rose 78%, with GAC’s Thailand plant producing more than 10K vehicles cumulatively. The Middle East and Africa region grew 51%, with GAC entering Morocco in July. In Europe, GAC achieved a 7.7% share of Greece’s pure EV market.

GAC’s global operations now cover five major regions: Asia-Pacific, Middle East, Africa, Europe and the Americas. The company has entered 110 countries and regions, built six overseas factories and established nine overseas parts warehouses.

Under the “One GAC 2.0” strategy, GAC aims to expand into 120 global markets by 2030, establish more than 2,000 overseas outlets and reach annual global sales of 1 million vehicles.
