- Geely Farizon opened its first overseas KD assembly in Indonesia, rolling out the V8E locally.
- Local V8E production cuts supply chains and delivery times while enabling product adaptation to Indonesian conditions.
- Farizon’s exports and sales surge — 107,589 YTD sales and 123% overseas export growth H1 2026.
Geely Farizon New Energy Commercial Vehicles announced on August 14 that its knock-down (KD) plant in Indonesia has officially commenced operations, with the first V8E model rolling off the local assembly line.
The facility marks Farizon’s first overseas KD localized production project.
Compared with exporting fully built vehicles, the KD model means the company moves part of the manufacturing process into the target market.
For Farizon, the move also shifts its Indonesia business beyond vehicle sales toward local supply chains, manufacturing and after-sales services.
The plant is located about 80 km southeast of Jakarta and currently has the capacity to locally assemble the V8E. Production lines will be upgraded and additional models added at a later stage.

Local production can shorten supply chains and delivery times while reducing some logistics and operating costs associated with importing fully built vehicles.
It also gives Farizon more flexibility to adapt products to local road, climate and transportation conditions.
The V8E assembled at the plant is a battery-electric light commercial vehicle tailored to urban distribution and logistics operations in Indonesia.
The vehicle has an 8.5-cubic-meter cargo box and a driving range of more than 400 km on a single charge, targeting last-mile urban delivery, commercial transport between urban and rural areas, and intra-city logistics.

Farizon entered the Indonesian market only recently. In January 2026, it partnered with local company Arista Group to enter Indonesia, launching the SuperVAN as its first model.
In April, the V7E and 16-seat passenger version of the SuperVAN were unveiled at the Indonesia International Commercial Vehicle Expo.
At the GIIAS 2026 Indonesia International Auto Show in late July, the V8E made its overseas public debut.
In less than eight months, Farizon has moved from initial product introduction to local assembly.
Farizon’s decision to adopt the KD model also comes as its overseas business expands. On Monday, the company’s 600,000th new energy commercial vehicle rolled off the production line.

Farizon sold 18,486 new energy commercial vehicles in July 2026, bringing January-July sales to 107,589 units, up 37.8% year on year.
Overseas markets have become an increasingly important source of growth for Farizon.
In the first half of 2026, its new energy commercial vehicle exports rose 123% year on year, ranking first in export volumes across 28 countries and regions including the UK, Australia and the UAE.
Overseas shipments continued to grow in July, rising 13.2% year on year.
