- XPeng will take direct control of UK sales operations while still using IM Group for local distribution services.
- UK deliveries hit about 1,800 G6s and registrations surged year‑on‑year, signaling a growing but still small UK market presence.
- XPeng plans to expand UK lineup with the X9 seven‑seat MPV and L03 coupe‑SUV to drive its next growth phase.
XPeng Motors has reached an agreement with International Motors (IM) Group to establish a UK national sales company and take over local sales operations, according to Motor Trade News.
Under the agreement, XPeng will continue to rely on IM Group’s operating infrastructure and expertise in local-market distribution.
IM Group will continue to provide “operational services,” while XPeng will take full responsibility for the brand’s local strategy and commercial development.
XPeng entered the UK market in 2025, with the G6 serving as its first right-hand-drive model in the market. At the time, IM Group was responsible for importing, logistics and retail operations.

After about a year, XPeng has delivered around 1,800 G6 vehicles to UK customers and is shifting from its initial distributor-led model toward a structure in which it has greater control over the business.
The change is not XPeng’s first adjustment to its overseas operating model.
Over the past year, the automaker has gradually shifted in some overseas markets away from reliance on exclusive local distributors toward models in which it takes greater control of sales and operations.
In April 2026, XPeng ended its partnership with Australian exclusive distributor TrueEV.

After TrueEV encountered financial difficulties and failed to fulfill its order obligations, XPeng terminated its dealership authorization and subsequently switched to a manufacturer-direct sales model in Australia.
Changes in UK sales have also provided the backdrop for the restructuring.
Data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) showed that XPeng registered 163 vehicles in the UK in July 2026, up 1,937.5% year on year.
For the first seven months of the year, registrations totaled 930 units, up 437.6% year on year. While absolute volumes remain low, XPeng’s UK sales base is expanding.
XPeng currently has 48 dealerships in the UK, covering England, Wales and Scotland. Following the restructuring, the retail network will continue to handle sales to end customers.

Products will be key to XPeng’s next phase of expansion in the UK.
In addition to the G6, which is already on sale, XPeng plans to introduce the X9 seven-seat MPV and the new L03 coupe-SUV crossover.
The L03 made its global debut in Munich, Germany, on July 16 this year.
XPeng plans to sell the model in 65 countries and regions worldwide this year. In Germany, the L03 currently starts at €35,600, including 19% VAT.
