BYD’s battery unit FinDreams Battery and Changsha Fusheng Technology, a provider of electronic control solutions for closed-loop rail vehicles, have signed a strategic cooperation agreement at BYD’s Pingshan headquarters, officially establishing a partnership in rail transit power batteries.
The cooperation will focus on new energy rail vehicles used in industrial and mining operations, shunting services, and on-site rail transportation.
Under the agreement, FinDreams Battery will provide support in the development and manufacturing of automotive-grade Blade Batteries, while contributing its products, technologies, certifications and market resources.
Changsha Fusheng Technology will leverage its expertise in integrated energy solutions for closed-loop scenarios, battery management systems (BMS), and intelligent electronic controls to handle system integration and application development.
The two companies will jointly develop customized solutions, pursue industry certifications such as CRCC approval, and collaborate on project deployment, market expansion and operational services.
The partnership marks FinDreams Battery’s attempt to extend its mature automotive-grade battery technology from passenger vehicles into industrial applications such as rail transit.
Traditionally, rail transit applications have relied on customized battery systems designed for specific operating conditions, with industrial-grade batteries being more commonly used. The latest cooperation brings BYD’s mature Blade Battery technology platform into the new energy rail traction sector.
FinDreams Battery already has a strong industrial foundation based on its battery installation scale.
From January to July 2026, FinDreams Battery’s power battery installations reached 106.7 GWh, up 4.7% YoY, ranking second globally in power battery shipments during the same period. As Blade Battery technology expands from passenger vehicles into rail transit, energy storage and other applications, its market reach continues to broaden.
In fact, FinDreams Battery has recently accelerated its shift toward becoming an integrated energy solutions provider.
Earlier, Zero Carbon Engine Technology Group and FinDreams Battery signed a strategic cooperation agreement. The two companies plan to work on energy storage, green transportation, mining, electric mining trucks and port logistics, while exploring new energy projects across cities, pastoral regions and industrial sectors in Mongolia.
Unlike the partnership with Ulaanbaatar, which mainly focuses on urban transportation and energy infrastructure, the Zero Carbon Engine project extends into high-energy-consuming sectors such as resource extraction and heavy-duty logistics.
From rail transit to mining operations and logistics, FinDreams Battery is expanding battery technology beyond vehicle applications into broader industrial energy scenarios. As electrification accelerates, these emerging markets could provide battery companies with new growth opportunities beyond passenger vehicles.
