- NIO’s firefly opened its first overseas standalone store in central Bangkok and launched a right‑hand‑drive Thailand model, reflecting a push to internationalize and grab urban EV market share from incumbents.
- The RHD model priced at 799,000 baht (about $24,700) and now offers a 60 kWh CATL ternary lithium battery with CLTC range of 560 km, up from 420 km with the 42.1 kWh pack.
- firefly targets the premium small EV segment where it claims >70% share in multiple months, but rapid scaling risks include RHD localization, distributor execution, and sustaining delivery momentum.
On Oct. 19, NIO’s firefly brand announced the opening of its first standalone store outside China at centralwOrld, a shopping mall in central Bangkok, Thailand, covering over 350 ㎡.
At the same time, firefly launched an updated right-hand-drive (RHD) version of its vehicle in Thailand, with product and service adjustments tailored to local mobility needs.

Located in one of Bangkok’s main commercial districts, the store combines vehicle displays, sales consultations, test-drive bookings, leisure facilities and lifestyle exhibits in an integrated customer experience space.
The showroom also features a vehicle created through a collaboration between firefly and Thai illustrator Tent Katchakul.
Thonburi BlueSky, part of Thailand’s Thonburi Group, serves as the brand’s local distributor.

Thailand is firefly’s second RHD market after Singapore. In March 2026, the brand unveiled its RHD model at the Bangkok International Motor Show, with a price of 799,000 baht ($24,700).
Firefly’s delivery pace has picked up recently. On Oct. 16, the 90,000th vehicle was delivered in Zhengzhou, less than a year and a half after initial deliveries began on April 29, 2025.
The brand held a ceremony for its 80,000th delivery in Hefei on September 5, meaning it took only about six weeks to reach the next 10,000-vehicle milestone.
At the 90,000th-delivery event, firefly head of brand marketing Pu Yang said a model equipped with a larger 60 kWh battery would officially launch on October 23.

The new model uses a ternary lithium battery supplied by CATL.
Its CLTC-rated driving range increases to 560 km from 420 km for the current version with a 42.1 kWh battery, an improvement of approximately 33%.
NIO Inc. delivered 37,408 vehicles in September, up 7.7% year over year. Firefly accounted for 7,327 of those deliveries, a 26.9% increase from a year earlier.
Firefly delivered 48,122 vehicles in the first three quarters of 2026, up 136.7% year over year and a record for the same period.
According to the company, firefly has ranked first by market share in the premium small electric vehicle segment for 16 consecutive months, with its share exceeding 70% in nine of those months.
