What Stands Out About the ONVO L90’s Space? A First Look

The ONVO L90 interior space delivers a bigger surprise than the exterior design.

As the second model launched under the ONVO brand, the L90 is positioned as a large six-seater SUV and is scheduled to officially begin pre-sales in early July.

Compared to the earlier L60, this model places greater emphasis on family-oriented use cases, particularly in terms of space utilization and in-cabin comfort—areas where expectations are notably high.

We’ve just completed an interior shoot of the ONVO L90 in Qingdao. Within the scope permitted by the confidentiality agreement, here are a few initial impressions.

First, the L90 delivers an exceptionally strong performance when it comes to space. In addition to the previously revealed oversized front trunk, both the rear seating area and cargo space are equally impressive. Most notably, the third row offers what is arguably the only truly “lie-down comfortable” experience we’ve encountered among all the large six-seater SUVs we’ve tested.

Even in today’s crowded six-seat SUV segment, the L90 manages to stand out in this regard.

Inside the cabin, the sense of luxury is well-crafted, with several design elements introduced for the first time. ONVO adheres to NIO’s core design values—purity, warmth, futurism, and refinement—and the L90 reflects all four, with meaningful breakthroughs particularly in the areas of “warmth” and “refinement.”

I noted about fifteen thoughtful design details that left a real impression—things like well-considered storage, a rear-seat screen that supports intelligent care features, easier entry for kids and older passengers, and a cockpit that truly wraps around you.

Ultimately, the L90’s market performance will hinge on two key factors: pricing and delivery pace. The encouraging news is that the team appears to have learned from the L60’s rollout. For example, this test-drive shoot was the largest production effort to date across all NIO-affiliated brands, with extensive scene setups and detailed planning—suggesting a much more prepared approach this time around.

As for pricing, sources suggest it will be highly competitive. With the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) plan and the addition of government-backed trade-in or purchase subsidies, the effective price could potentially fall below RMB 200,000 (approximately USD 27,500).
