BYD Thailand Plant Marks One-Year Anniversary, Secures Second Place in Thai Market Sales Last Month.
The 90,000th Vehicle Rolls Off the Line in Thailand, with the Destroyer 05 Set to Launch Overseas Soon.
On the morning of July 7, BYD celebrated the rollout of its 90,000th vehicle for the Thai market and marked the first anniversary of its Thailand production facility. The event took place at BYD’s Rayong manufacturing base. BYD Chairman Wang Chuanfu attended the ceremony and personally handed over the milestone vehicle—a Denza D9—to the new owner, Pol. Gen. Somyot Poompanmoung, President of the Football Association of Thailand.

Alongside the celebration, the BYD SEAL 05 was officially rolled off the production line at the Thai plant. The model is scheduled to launch in the Thai market on August 8, 2025, targeting the competitive mid-size sedan (B-segment) segment. It is expected to be priced around 600,000 Thai Baht.
The BYD Thailand facility, BYD’s first overseas passenger vehicle plant, broke ground in March 2023 with a total investment of approximately 35 billion Thai Baht (about RMB 7.7 billion). Spanning 948,000 square meters, the plant has a planned annual capacity of 150,000 units and includes the four major vehicle manufacturing processes (stamping, welding, painting, final assembly) as well as a component plant. Currently, three vehicle models are produced locally, and the facility has created nearly 5,000 jobs in Thailand.
In June 2025, BYD recorded 6,550 vehicle sales in Thailand, surpassing long-established Japanese competitors such as Honda and Suzuki, and securing second place in monthly sales, trailing only Toyota.

BYD’s global export footprint now spans more than 110 countries and regions. To meet growing international demand, BYD has established a global production layout with four overseas plants in Thailand, Uzbekistan, Brazil, and Hungary. In the first half of 2025, BYD’s overseas sales exceeded 470,000 units, representing a 132% year-on-year increase. The company projects its total overseas sales will exceed 800,000 units by the end of 2025.
