The all-electric Mazda 6e officially enters the European market with a maximum range of 552 km. Its price in Europe is double that of the EZ-6 sold in China.
Recently, Mazda announced the official launch of its all-electric Mazda 6e in the European market. The new model is expected to play a key role in Mazda’s electrification strategy and further strengthen the brand’s presence in Europe.
To meet the growing demand in the new energy vehicle (NEV) market, Changan Mazda previously developed two NEV models—EZ-6 and EZ-60—based on the Changan EPA electric platform. The Mazda 6e released in Europe is essentially the export version of the Changan Mazda EZ-6.
Currently, the Mazda 6e is offered exclusively as a battery electric vehicle (BEV) in Europe. It features a rear-wheel-drive single-motor layout. The version equipped with a 68.8 kWh battery delivers a WLTP range of 479 km, while the long-range variant with an 80 kWh battery achieves a WLTP range of up to 552 km. Both exterior and interior designs remain consistent with the EZ-6.
Taking the German market as an example, the entry-level 6e is priced at €44,900. A higher-trim version priced at €46,900 includes upgrades such as a panoramic sunroof, wooden interior trims, and Nappa leather seats. For comparison, its main rival—the Tesla Model 3—is priced at €39,990 for the rear-wheel-drive variant and €49,990 for the long-range all-wheel-drive version.
In Chinese mainland, the Mazda EZ-6 is available with both extended-range hybrid and all-electric powertrains. Its price ranges from RMB 139,800 to RMB 179,800 (€17,711–€23,034), offering both BEV and EREV (extended-range electric vehicle) options. Even when factoring in differences in configurations, the European version’s price is still roughly twice that of the Chinese model’s base price.

In the Chinese market, the EZ-6 serves more as a response to the prevailing market trends, helping Mazda retain a modest presence in the fiercely competitive automotive landscape—especially as NEVs become increasingly mainstream. Changan Mazda’s existing product lineup can no longer meet evolving consumer demands. The EZ-6 combines local brands’ cutting-edge electric technologies with Mazda’s renowned design and tuning, making it an appealing option for Mazda enthusiasts or consumers looking to express their individuality.
It is reported that the Nanjing factory is currently Mazda’s only global NEV export facility. In April, 600 units of the Mazda 6e rolled off the production line and were shipped to Belgium, with official deliveries in Europe scheduled for September. Following that, the EZ-60 will also be exported to Europe under the name Mazda CX-6e. According to Mazda’s overseas NEV strategy, the Mazda 6e will be exported to both Europe and Southeast Asia, with an annual export target exceeding 100,000 units. It is expected to contribute more than 30% of Changan Mazda’s revenue in 2025.
