The hot sales of the MG4 are no coincidence. Positioned as a compact pure electric SUV, it is built on SAIC’s E3 pure electric architecture platform, with dimensions of 4395×1842×1551 mm and a wheelbase of 2750 mm.

The exterior features a new design language, with integrated front headlights incorporating L-shaped daytime running lights and full-width LED taillights with a distinctive arrow-shaped signature, giving it a highly recognizable appearance.

In terms of powertrain, the all-new MG4 adopts a single-motor pure electric system with a maximum power of 120 kW. The battery pack offers different capacities, with the entry-level version providing a range of 437 km and an energy consumption as low as 10.4 kWh per 100 km, supported by 20-minute fast charging. The high-end variant is equipped with some of the world’s first mass-produced semi-solid-state batteries, delivering a range of 530 km and maintaining 75% range retention even at -7°C.

Additionally, the model features CTB (cell-to-body) battery integration technology, a Qualcomm 8155 chip, an OPPO Smart Car Connectivity system, and 14 active safety features, among other highlights.

Chen Cui, General Manager of the MG Brand Division, revealed that over 50% of orders are for the two highest-end versions, while the entry-level model accounts for only about 10%.

The MG4 is not only performing strongly in the domestic market but is also a strategic focus for MG overseas. From January to July 2025, nearly 180,000 MG4 units were delivered in the European market, helping MG surpass Tesla to become the top-selling electric vehicle brand in Europe.

In terms of sales channels, MG is accelerating its expansion, planning to increase its number of dealerships nationwide to over 400 by the end of the year and partnering with OPPO Smart Car to set up 200 pop-up stores in shopping malls.

Chen Cui stated that over the next three years, MG will invest RMB 10 billion in R&D to launch 13 new energy models, comprehensively covering the mainstream market segment priced between RMB 100,000 and 200,000.

With production ramping up and deliveries accelerating, the MG4 is expected to continue breaking sales records and emerge as one of the dark horses in this year’s electric vehicle market.
