ONVO L90’s initial owner option data released, with six-seat layouAt, electric running boards, and battery rental scheme as top picks.
Just three days after the ONVO L90 launched and began deliveries, William Li unusually shared a “sales report” on Weibo. Although he did not disclose exact figures, his comment that the model “raced into the top three of the large SUV weekly sales ranking” sent a clear signal: the car is selling better than expected.

Shortly after, an internal NIO media group posted a sales leaderboard—this is the report William Li referred to.
Data shows that ONVO L90 delivered 1,976 units last week, 1.6 times the combined deliveries of the Li Auto L9 and L8 for the same period. In a segment traditionally dominated by range-extended and combustion SUVs, the L90 is the first pure electric large three-row SUV to break into mainstream view.

According to iyiou, Shen Fei, newly appointed head of ONVO sales, has set an internal target: deliveries must exceed 10,000 units in August. If achieved, the L90 will become NIO’s first model ever to surpass 10,000 units delivered in its debut month.
Meanwhile, during the L90’s first week on sale, official option data for early buyers was also released:
The six-seat version dominates. The Ultra six-seat variant accounts for 55% of selections, while the Max six-seat variant takes 43%. Virtually no buyers chose the seven-seat layout, indicating users generally prioritize middle-row comfort over “filling seats.”

The most popular optional accessory is the “Step-Up” electric running board, equipped on nearly 80% of vehicles, facilitating entry and exit for elderly and children.

Over 70% of buyers opted for the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) rental plan, which reduces the purchase price by RMB 86,000 ($12,040) and charges RMB 899 ($126) monthly rental fees. This significantly lowers the entry barrier and spreads battery-related risks.

Interior color preference is quite unified, with over 60% choosing the Banyan Cinnamon scheme, far surpassing alternatives like Cloud Mist Beige.

Large wheels are mainstream, with over 75% selecting 21-inch multi-spoke rims, balancing practicality and aesthetics.

This data paints a clear customer profile: family-oriented, practicality-driven buyers willing to pay for convenience and safety, with reasonable budget considerations.
William Li has said the L90, alongside the third-generation ES8, will lead a new era for pure electric large three-row SUVs.
Judging by current market reactions, the L90 may shift the segment’s perception about whether pure electric vehicles can serve as family flagship SUVs.
