The third-gen ES8 is a flagship SUV built for all scenarios, from business and family use to personal and long-distance travel.
On August 15, Ted, Vice President of Product at NIO, shared two official interior images of the third-generation ES8 on Weibo.

Ted described the new ES8 as a “full-scenario, technology flagship SUV,” tailored to meet the needs of users across business, family, personal, and long-distance travel scenarios.
The newly released interior images provide a clearer view of the vehicle’s cabin details.

The third-gen ES8 adopts the same Horizon Display as the ET9, with a horizontally oriented central touchscreen accompanied by dual wireless charging panels below. Ted also revealed that the ES8 will offer multiple interior themes; the showcased model features a luxurious red interior, with the trunk and the backs of the third-row seats finished to match the cabin color.
Attention to craftsmanship is evident throughout. The vehicle features a straight-grain knurled Flight Control button island and satin-finished trim strips, reflecting high-end design standards. The door panels stand out with metal-brushed speaker grilles, behind which sits a premium audio and entertainment system.
Regarding materials, Ted highlighted that the third-gen ES8 offers a total of 52 square meters of soft interior surfaces. The seats incorporate over 120,000 embroidery stitches for a quilted, detailed finish.

From front to back, the ES8’s interior features a 2+2+2 seating layout. The driver’s seat is equipped with a headrest speaker, and the rear center console includes a small functional screen for adjusting climate and other settings.
The second row offers additional highlights, including optional dual zero-gravity seats. Hidden cup holders are integrated into the aisle armrests, with storage compartments and Type-C charging ports below. Previous reports indicate that the second row also features privacy glass and physical sunshades, enhancing both privacy and a sense of luxury.
Built on NIO’s NT 3.0 platform, the new ES8 measures 5,280 × 2,010 × 1,800 mm with a 3,130 mm wheelbase—181 mm longer with a 60 mm longer wheelbase than its predecessor—providing significantly improved third-row space.
The powertrain retains the dual-motor setup with a 180 kW front motor and a 340 kW rear motor, paired with a standard 102 kWh battery delivering a CLTC range of 635 km. The vehicle supports ultra-fast charging, adding 250 km of range in just five minutes.
The current-generation ES8 starts at RMB 498,000 ($ 69,500). With upgraded features, the new generation is expected to exceed RMB 500,000 ($ 69,700).
