BYD Delivers 10,000th NEV in Indian Market

The overseas market has become BYD’s second growth curve.

Recently, BYD reached the milestone of delivering its 10,000th new energy vehicle in the Indian market.

Currently, BYD has launched several new energy models in the Indian market, including the Sealion 7 SUV, eMax 7 MPV, Atto 3 SUV and Seal.

The breakthrough in the Indian market is a microcosm of BYD’s overseas expansion.

Data shows that in the first half of the year, BYD’s new energy vehicle sales reached 2.146 million units, a year-on-year increase of 33%. Among them, BYD’s overseas sales exceeded 470,000 units, a surge of 132% year-on-year, which has already surpassed last year’s total overseas sales. The overseas market has become BYD’s second growth curve.

The overseas market not only brings sales growth but also further optimizes BYD’s profit structure. Official financial report data shows that in the first half of 2025, BYD’s revenue reached 371.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 23%, surpassing Tesla for the first time. Among this, overseas revenue reached 135.4 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 130%, accounting for 36% of total operating revenue.

It is worth mentioning that BYD’s pricing for models in overseas markets is usually significantly higher than in China. In major export markets such as Germany, Brazil, Israel, Australia, and Thailand, model pricing is generally 2 to 3 times higher than in China.

With the completion of factories in Thailand and Uzbekistan, and the construction of the Hungary base progressing, BYD is accelerating its global expansion.
