The ONVO L90 has emerged as the primary growth driver. Launched on July 31, the model surpassed 4,000 deliveries within 10 days and exceeded 10,000 units in its first month, becoming the fastest-selling model in NIO Inc.’s history to break the 10,000-unit milestone.

The all-new ES8 from the NIO brand was unveiled for pre-sale on August 21, with prices starting at RMB 416,800 ($58,050). With the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) leasing option, the entry price drops to RMB 308,800 ($43,000), nearly RMB 150,000 ($20,900) lower than the previous generation.
NIO Inc. co-founder Qin Lihong noted that pre-orders for the new ES8 have already surpassed those of the ONVO L90 during the same period, underscoring strong early demand.

Meanwhile, the Firefly brand is also ramping up. Its “Nomad Mellowd” Special Edition sold out within just 30 hours of launch. Since its April debut, Firefly completed its 10,000th delivery on July 26 and entered the European market on August 14, with initial deliveries reaching customers in Norway and the Netherlands.

On infrastructure, NIO Inc. announced that its G318 Sichuan-Tibet power-swap route was fully completed on August 16. Stretching 2,950 kilometers, the route is supported by 15 swap stations, averaging one every 200 kilometers. Between August 29 and October 12, unlimited free power-swap services will be available to all NIO and ONVO users.
At the Chengdu Auto Show, the company further revealed plans to complete the West Sichuan Loop and Yunnan-Tibet swap routes by year-end. It also announced that all models across the NIO brand will now come standard with a 100 kWh long-range battery at no price increase, while continuing to offer the 75 kWh BaaS leasing option.
With deliveries reaching a new record high, the market is now awaiting NIO Inc.’s second-quarter earnings report, scheduled for release on September 2, for further signs of financial improvement.
