The new IM LS6 opened for preorders on August 15, with prices ranging from RMB 209,900 ($29,400) to RMB 279,900 ($39,200). The model is scheduled to officially launch on September 10.
A screenshot of an alleged internal company email circulated online recently, titled “Notice on Delayed Delivery of Employee-Ordered Vehicles.”
The email revealed that preorders for the new IM LS6 have already surpassed 50,000 units. It informed employees that, given the demand far exceeding expectations, delivery of the first batch of employee-ordered vehicles would be postponed until the end of November, with priority given to fulfilling customer orders.

The new IM LS6 opened for presale on August 15, offering four trims priced between RMB 209,900 ($29,400) and RMB 279,900 ($39,200). The model is set to officially launch on September 10.
The LS6 lineup includes both battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended range electric vehicle (EREV) versions.

The EREV model, built on an 800V high-voltage platform, delivers up to 230 kW of power, with a maximum CLTC electric range of 450 km and a combined range exceeding 1,500 km. It supports rapid charging that adds 310 km of range in just 15 minutes.
The BEV version comes in both rear-wheel-drive (245 kW) and all-wheel-drive (500 kW) variants, with CLTC ranges of 650 km and 750 km, respectively.
On the technology side, the LS6 is equipped with the Momenta R6 large AI model, Nvidia’s Thor chip, and a 520-line LiDAR sensor, enabling advanced driver-assistance functions such as highway and urban navigation.
This is not the first time IM Motors has faced a “strong presale but delivery bottleneck” scenario.

The previous LS6 drew over 5,000 orders within 10 hours of presales, while the new L6, launched in April, recorded 9,000 preorders within 48 hours. However, deliveries lagged behind, with actual handovers of 948 units in April, 1,141 in May, 2,635 in June, and 3,255 in July.
While the LS6 has clearly generated strong market enthusiasm, the true challenge lies ahead: whether IM Motors can scale production and stabilize its supply chain to meet demand.
As of now, the company has not officially commented on the reported employee delivery delays.
