Geely Galaxy E5 and Starray 7 EM-i to Enter Italian Market

Geely is accelerating the rollout of its new energy vehicle portfolio in the European market.

On September 26 local time, Geely Auto Group showcased multiple global models at the Salone Auto Torino 2025 in Italy, including the Galaxy M9, the Galaxy E5 (marketed overseas as the Geely EX5), and the Galaxy Starray 7 EM-i (overseas as Geely Starray EM-i).

The auto show runs through September 28 and features participation from several international automakers.

Geely has confirmed that both the Galaxy E5 and the Galaxy Starray 7 EM-i will officially enter the Italian market.

As early as July this year, the company signed a cooperation agreement with Italian dealership group Jameel Motors to pave the way for the local introduction of its new energy models. After launch, Geely plans to establish a full sales and aftersales system and build a stable local dealer network.

Geely’s expansion in Europe has visibly accelerated this year. The Galaxy E5 made its global debut in Frankfurt in September last year and has since entered more than 30 countries and regions, driving a 307% year-on-year (YoY) increase in exports of Geely’s BEVs in the first half of 2025.

Notably, at the TADA Torino Auto Design Award ceremony held the same day, the Galaxy E5 received the Torino Automotive Design Award.

The Galaxy Starray 7 EM-i debuted in Australia this September and will enter more than 20 markets, creating a complementary pure-electric and hybrid product lineup alongside the Galaxy E5.

At the same time, the Galaxy EX5 will enter the UK market, as Geely develops a dual-track strategy in Europe, advancing both pure electric and hybrid offerings in parallel.

On the design side, Geely has been expanding its global footprint. The company has established five major design centers in Shanghai, Ningbo, Milan, Gothenburg, and Coventry, enabling cross-time-zone collaboration across multiple regions.

Some of the Galaxy models displayed at the show were partially designed by the Milan Design Center. Its team includes members who have worked on projects for brands such as Porsche and McLaren, and it has formed partnerships with ten European design institutions to provide sustained input into Geely’s global portfolio.

Through coordination between design teams in Shanghai, Ningbo, and Europe, Geely has developed a “24-hour relay” product development mechanism, aimed at quickly responding to market requirements and enabling localized adaptations.

According to company data, Geely’s total vehicle sales reached 1.409 million units in the first half of the year, an increase of 47% YoY, with market share exceeding 10% for the first time. NEV sales reached 725,000 units, up 126% YoY, and exports surpassed 180,000 units.

On the back of stronger-than-expected performance, Geely has raised its full-year 2025 sales target from 2.71 million units to 3 million.
