Geely officially entered the UK market in October 2025 with the EX5 electric SUV, priced from £31,990 on the road.

In February this year, the brand added the Starray EM-i plug-in hybrid, priced from £29,990.

In late August, Geely launched and began deliveries of the EX2 in the UK, making it the brand’s most affordable model in the market at £20,990 on the road.

The EX2 is the UK-market counterpart of the Geely Xingyuan in China, which sold more than 460,000 units in 2025, making it the country’s best-selling individual vehicle model that year.

Registration data show Geely’s UK sales gradually gaining momentum.

According to data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), Geely registered 1,085 vehicles in UK for August, taking its January-August total to 9,245 units.

Based on that figure, cumulative registrations surpassed 750 units in early September.

Geely entered the UK as Chinese automakers were rapidly increasing their market share.

SMMT data show Chinese brands collectively registered 19,819 vehicles in the UK in August, accounting for about 21% of the new-car market and making them the second-largest regional brand group after European marques.

Against this backdrop, Geely is competing not only with established European brands but also with a growing number of Chinese automakers entering the UK market.

Beyond its product lineup, Geely is also accelerating dealer-network expansion.

Simon Branney, the company’s PR chief in the UK, recently said Geely plans to have 100 dealers in the country by the end of 2026, covering about 90% to 95% of the UK.

Over the next three years, Geely plans to launch 10 new models in the UK. It has set a 2026 sales target of 20,000 units and is targeting 100,000 annual sales by 2030.
