Week 39 data indicate that leading NEV brands in China are consolidating their market positions, while rising deliveries of new models provide momentum for emerging brands.
China’s new energy vehicle (NEV) market rankings for Week 39 (September 22–28) have been released.
Due to ongoing restrictions on the disclosure of vehicle registration and delivery data by relevant authorities, some figures remain partially unavailable, and the ranking relies on third-party sources.
Data show that as the latter part of the “Golden September” sales period unfolds, the overall market continues to gain momentum, though growth rates vary, and the gap between leading brands continues to widen.
BYD maintained its market leadership with 92,400 units sold, up approximately 30.6% from 70,750 units in Week 38.

While delivery cycles for the SU7 and YU7 remain relatively long, sales channels indicated last week that efforts are underway to optimize delivery schedules, mostly reducing cycles by 1–2 weeks, with some models advanced by up to six weeks.
Currently, the SU7 (excluding the Max version) has a fastest delivery cycle of 34–37 weeks, while the YU7 is 36–39 weeks.
NIO Inc. recorded approximately 10,800 deliveries in Week 39, a substantial week-on-week increase of 61.9%, marking the first time in recent weeks that weekly deliveries exceeded 10,000 units.

The new i6 received over 20,000 orders on its first day, surpassing the initial demand recorded for the L9 launch. With a planned i6 production capacity of 45,000–50,000 units, deliveries next week are expected to further lift overall sales. In line with this, Li Auto launched a cross-year purchase tax subsidy program today.
Overall, Week 39 shows that leading brands such as BYD and Tesla continue to expand market share through new models, production capacity, and exports, while newer players including Leapmotor, NIO, and XPeng demonstrate phased growth driven by product launches and structural adjustments.
