Buick Electra L7 Surpasses 12,000 Firm Orders Ten Days After Launch

The Electra L7 has become the newly emerged best-selling model in Buick’s NEV family.

On October 9, Buick announced that the Electra L7 had received over 12,000 firm orders within ten days of its launch, establishing it as the new best-selling model within Buick’s new energy vehicle family.

Simultaneously, Buick’s official release included a data report profiling the first batch of Electra L7 users. Let’s take a detailed look at who these initial users are.

The user base for the Electra L7 exhibits diverse characteristics, breaking through the traditional user boundaries of new energy vehicles.

Official data shows that the majority of the initial Electra L7 users are from young families, with an average user age of 36. Users aged 35 and below account for 43% of the total. Among them, the purchase/repurchase ratio is as high as 75%, while first-time buyers make up 25%.

Furthermore, the top three reasons that ultimately convinced users to place orders for the Electra L7 are: the “Dragon” range-extending system, luxury features that exceed its class, and the high-level advanced driver-assistance system.

Leveraging these standout features, the new model has successfully attracted a segment of young users who were initially considering brands like XPeng and AITO, as well as traditional B-segment car owners switching from models such as the Volkswagen Magotan and Toyota Camry to new energy vehicles. Official data indicates that the models most frequently compared by the initial Electra L7 buyers include the Xiaomi SU7, AITO M7, XPeng P7, Volkswagen Magotan, and Toyota Camry.

Looking at the order structure, higher-end trim levels are more popular in the market.

Data shows that the Avenir trim accounts for nearly 50% of orders, while versions equipped with the high-level advanced driver-assistance system make up a significant 70%. This indicates that users’ purchasing decisions are no longer based solely on price but place greater emphasis on the vehicle’s level of intelligence and luxury experience.

The Electra L7 was launched on September 28, offering a total of 5 variants with limited-time promotional prices ranging from 169,900 to 215,000 yuan. Deliveries are expected to commence on October 20.

Buick officials disclosed that, due to component stocking and approval process cycles, deliveries for Avenir trim vehicles optioned with the “Polar Night & Stargazing” interior or the 20-inch Starlight Turbo Fan alloy wheels will not begin until December.
