WeRide Receives Chinese SEC Filing Acceptance for Hong Kong IPO

WeRide reported a revenue of 127 million yuan in the second quarter of 2025, representing a year-on-year increase of 60.8%.

On October 14, the International Cooperation Department of the China Securities Regulatory Commission released the “Filing Notice for Overseas Issuance and Listing of WeRide Inc.” WeRide plans to issue no more than 102,428,200 ordinary shares for overseas listing and list on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong.

This advancement in the Hong Kong listing marks a significant step for WeRide, following its Nasdaq debut in 2024, further opening channels to Asian capital markets and forming a dual-platform financing system of “US stocks + Hong Kong stocks.”

Since entering 2025, WeRide has significantly accelerated its commercial progress.

Regarding its global fleet, WeRide’s Robotaxi fleet in Abu Dhabi, UAE, has tripled in size since 2024, with service coverage extending to nearly half of the core urban areas and order volume achieving a doubling.

In May this year, WeRide and Uber announced an expanded collaboration, planning to deploy autonomous Robotaxi services in 15 new cities across regions like Europe and the Middle East over the next five years.

In Southeast Asia, in August 2025, WeRide secured a tens of millions of USD investment from the regional super app Grab. The two parties will jointly explore the deployment of thousands of Robotaxis in Southeast Asia. It is reported that Grab’s investment is expected to be completed no later than the first half of 2026, with WeRide leveraging Grab’s platform advantages for seamless vehicle integration.

Financial reports show that in the second quarter of 2025, revenue reached 127 million RMB, a year-on-year increase of 60.8%. Among this, Robotaxi business revenue soared to 45.9 million RMB, a staggering 836.7% year-on-year surge, accounting for 36.1% of total revenue.

The approval of the Hong Kong listing filing provides WeRide with additional capital firepower for the scaled deployment of its services in the Middle East, Europe, and Southeast Asia.
