Since the first delivery on August 21st last year, the Yangwang U9 has cumulatively delivered 149 new vehicles in its first year, making it China’s first supercar model to achieve a hundred deliveries.
Recently, BYD’s luxury brand Yangwang has adjusted the price of its pure electric supercar, the U9. The starting price has been increased from the original 1.68 million yuan to 1.8 million yuan, a significant hike of 120,000 yuan. When fully optioned, the price of the model directly reaches 2.15 million yuan.
Although the official reason for the price increase has not been disclosed, Yangwang U9 has been making frequent moves recently in terms of technology and brand.
On September 20th, the Yangwang U9 track special edition model – the U9 Xtreme – was officially launched, with a global limited release of only 30 units.

Officials stated that this model lapped the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 6 minutes 59.157 seconds, surpassing models like the Porsche Taycan and Tesla Model S Plaid, becoming the first pure electric production car to break the 7-minute barrier.
The name U9X originates from “extreme,” and due to its personalized whole-vehicle customization requirements, the specific official pricing has not yet been announced.

The high price of the Yangwang U9 is supported by its technical capabilities. As a pure electric performance supercar, the U9 is equipped with the Yi Si Fang (Four-Motor) pure electric system, with a total power of 960kW, maximum horsepower of 1306 Ps, and a peak torque of 1680 N·m.
This powertrain enables the U9 to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.36 seconds. Additionally, the U9 is equipped with an 80 kW·h Blade Battery, offering a CLTC comprehensive range of 450 km. It also supports DC dual-gun fast charging with a maximum power of 500kW, allowing it to charge from 30% to 80% in 10 minutes.

In contrast to the model’s premium positioning and extreme performance is its currently limited market share.
Official data shows that since the first delivery on August 21st last year, the Yangwang U9 has cumulatively delivered 149 new vehicles in its first year, making it China’s first supercar model to achieve a hundred deliveries.
From January to September 2025, the cumulative sales of the Yangwang U9 were 91 units, accounting for 3.89% of the manufacturer’s share, indicating its role as a brand image flagship rather than a volume-seller product.
