GAC Toyota’s new-generation midsize SUV is set to debut soon, while the bZ7 pure-electric sedan is expected to launch by year-end.

On November 4, GAC Toyota reported October sales of 71,604 vehicles, bringing its January–October tally to 639,119 units, marking positive year-on-year growth.

The bZ3X delivered 10,013 units during the month, up 11% year-on-year, breaking the 10,000-unit threshold for the first time.

Launched in March this year, the bZ3X is GAC Toyota’s first new-energy SUV aimed at China’s fast-evolving EV segment. The model is offered in seven trims, priced from RMB 109,800–159,800 ($15,400–$22,400).

Positioned as the brand’s first high-level intelligent-driving EV, the bZ3X comes with lidar and an NVIDIA Orin X chip. It uses an advanced driving system supplied by Momenta, enabling end-to-end intelligent driving.

The bZ3X is built on Toyota’s new E/E architecture, equipped with a 150 kW motor and an LFP battery from CALB. CLTC ranges are rated at 430 km, 520 km, and 610 km.

As a core product in Toyota’s China electrification strategy, the model takes a development approach closer to domestic EV makers, targeting the RMB 150,000 ($21,000) class and competing directly with popular offerings such as BYD Yuan PLUS and Geely Galaxy E5.

To further promote NEV adoption, GAC Toyota rolled out two customer-care initiatives: “winter-range protection” and extended manufacturer liability covering battery degradation.

The company promises battery-condition inspection within 48 hours when range concerns arise; if verified, the battery will be replaced within 72 hours at no cost.

In addition, GAC Toyota upgraded its “dual-liability” policy to “triple-liability,” adding battery-degradation coverage to existing guarantees on battery thermal incidents and intelligent-parking accidents. Replacement is offered at no cost when degradation exceeds standards.

Looking ahead, GAC Toyota said a new-generation midsize SUV will be unveiled soon. The pure-electric sedan bZ7, which debuted at Auto Shanghai in April and has already completed MIIT declaration procedures, is expected to launch by year-end.
