BYD’s European sales for the first nine months of 2025 more than tripled year-on-year.
Recently, BYD Europe Managing Director Maria Grazia Davino revealed in a media interview that BYD is implementing an aggressive expansion plan in Europe. By the end of 2025, BYD will have 1,000 sales and service outlets in the European market, and this number will double again in 2026.
Davino, responsible for BYD’s operations in German-speaking countries, Eastern Europe, and Scandinavia, stated that BYD adheres to a long-term localization strategy in Europe and has currently entered 29 European markets.
Additionally, BYD is soon to establish a new factory in Hungary, which will become its first plant in Europe. Meanwhile, BYD also plans to build a second factory in Turkey and is considering a third production plant in Europe, with Spain being a primary candidate location.

Data shows that BYD’s sales performance in the European market is experiencing explosive growth.
BYD’s sales in Europe from January to September 2025 reached 80,807 units, more than triple the figure from the same period last year. In May 2025 alone, BYD’s total sales in five key European markets, including the UK, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain, reached 10,199 units, leading Tesla by 6,619 units.
It is reported that the number of models BYD currently sells in Europe has increased from 6 two years ago to 13, and its product portfolio now covers everything from hatchbacks to mid-to-large SUVs.
