Two new models based on Geely’s GEA new energy architecture will be locally produced and launched in the Brazilian market in the second half of 2026.
As early as November 3, Geely and Renault announced a strategic partnership in Brazil, with Geely acquiring a 26.4% stake in Renault do Brasil and gaining shared access to the company’s industrial and commercial resources.
Today, the two parties officially held the launch ceremony for their strategic partnership at the Ayrton Senna Industrial Park in Brazil.
Renault-Geely Brazil will invest approximately RMB 5.1 billion to advance the localization of new energy technology platforms and vehicle models in Brazil. Simultaneously, this project will significantly enhance the production capacity utilization of the industrial park and accelerate Geely’s expansion into new energy markets across Latin America.
According to the investment plan, the two sides will locally produce two all-new models based on Geely’s GEA new energy architecture, which will be officially launched in the Brazilian market in the second half of 2026.
Looking ahead, the joint venture will also develop a brand-new new energy technology platform, with a new Renault model developed on this platform scheduled for production in 2027.
Additionally, the two parties will leverage Renault’s existing production capacity and dealership network in Brazil to accelerate localization efforts. Currently, the Geely EX5 and Geely EX2 (Xingyuan) have already been launched in Brazil through Renault’s dealership network.
This investment marks another significant step forward in the strategic cooperation between Geely and Renault, following their joint advancement of a complete vehicle project in South Korea and the establishment of the global powertrain company HORSE Powertrain.
