XPeng took 82 months to reach its first 500,000 vehicles, but only 14 months to move from 500,000 to 1 million.
On November 21, XPeng announced at the opening of the Auto Guangzhou 2025 that the company has produced its 1 millionth vehicle.
CEO He Xiaopeng highlighted the acceleration in manufacturing scale, noting that while it took 82 months to build the first 500,000 cars, the next 500,000 were completed in just 14 months.
The milestone vehicle is the XPeng X9 EREV, which officially launched last night. He said pre-orders surpassed the previous full-day record for the X9 within one hour of launch, with 79% of customers choosing the Ultra variant.
On intelligent driving and robotics, He outlined a clearer roadmap. XPeng plans to launch three Robotaxi models and begin pilot operations in 2026.
The next-generation IRON humanoid robot is targeted for mass production by late 2026, with the long-term ambition to approach automotive-level pricing and exceed 1 million annual sales by 2030.
Meanwhile, mass delivery of the company’s flying vehicle “Land Aircraft Carrier” is also scheduled for 2026.
XPeng said the second-generation VLA architecture will be fully deployed on Ultra models in the first quarter of 2026 and will expand to Max models in the same year.
The Max version enables broader rollout of advanced driver assistance capabilities, supporting a hardware setup combining one Turing AI chip with two Orin-X chips.
In product planning, XPeng expects to launch seven “dual-power” models in 2026, including three Kunpeng Super EREV vehicles positioned for longer all-electric range and 5C ultra-fast charging to compete in the booming extended-range EV segment.
Three new models designed for overseas markets are also planned for next year, while the XPeng P7+ is scheduled for an international debut in January 2026. The company will also expand into compact and mid-size SUVs.
Data shows that XPeng continues to post strong growth in both domestic and overseas markets in 2025, ranking among the top six global EV brands by model sales.
From January to October, XPeng delivered 355,209 vehicles, up 190% year-on-year. Overseas deliveries reached 34,712 units, up 106.7%.
Alongside sales momentum, XPeng continues to strengthen its service ecosystem. The company’s sales and service network now covers 52 countries and regions, while its global charging network spans more than 2.58 million chargers across 31 countries.
