China NEV Market in Nov: HIMA Surges Past 80K, Leapmotor Holds Steady Above 70K

In November, the auto market thrived, with sustained delivery growth and record highs among numerous Chinese NEV brands.

In November, the frenzy of the “Golden September and Silver October” buying season faded, but the auto market remained highly active.

On one hand, the phase-out of purchase tax incentives and targeted “price protection programs” introduced by automakers stimulated demand for both new purchases and replacements.

On the other hand, a steady stream of new model launches brought freshness to the market and encouraged hesitant buyers to place orders.

As a result, the industry still saw sustained delivery growth and new record highs across many brands in November.

Leapmotor and Huawei-backed Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA) illustrate this trend clearly, with the former holding above 70,000 deliveries and the latter surpassing the 80,000 threshold to set a new record.

Xiaomi Auto also reported an approximate delivery figure of “over 40,000.”

Brands including NIO Inc., Li Auto and Xpeng continued steady performance.

After the peak season, the market shifted back to a traditional off-season, and with the decline of replacement subsidies in October, some brands experienced natural pullbacks yet remained at relatively high volume levels.

Even after the peak cycle, many Chinese NEV players kept strong momentum and hit new records. So which brand led the market in November? A quick look is offered at the numbers below.

Note: Delivery results referenced in this article reflect automaker releases as of 8:00 p.m. on December 1.

NIO Inc.

In November, NIO Inc. delivered 36,275 new vehicles, up 76.3 percent year-on-year.

Among them, the NIO brand delivered 18,393 units; ONVO delivered 11,794 units; and firefly delivered 6,088 units.

Following the high-volume selling season, the market returned to its usual off-season. With the October phase-out of replacement incentives, the year-end market is generally under pressure, and delivery pullbacks are within normal fluctuation.

Overall, NIO Inc. continues to advance steadily.

During the Auto Guangzhou 2025, ONVO officially unveiled the L90 Black Knight Special Edition, limited to 999 units and scheduled to begin deliveries in early December.

firefly’s four consecutive months of record-high results came as a surprise, exceeding the combined sales of all MINI and Smart models and achieving the milestone of 30,000 total deliveries.

Another highlight: the all-new ES8 delivered 20,000 units in just 70 days, which the company claims is the fastest pace to surpass 20,000 deliveries among Chinese pure electric models priced above RMB 400,000 ($56,000).

With the year drawing to a close, capturing the final month’s delivery push remains NIO Inc.’s key objective.

Xpeng

Xpeng delivered 36,728 vehicles in November, bringing cumulative 2025 deliveries to 391,937 units. The company’s messaging remains centered on extended-range EVs (EREVs).

Recently, the Xpeng X9 extended-range variant became a major hit. According to founder He Xiaopeng, orders in the first hour after launch surpassed the X9’s previous full-day record.

Notably, northern China accounted for more than 50 percent of orders for the first time, and the 1602 Ultra version represented 79 percent of all orders. Transitioning from a pure-EV focus into EREVs, Xpeng continues to show strong momentum.

Reports suggest that to secure deliveries, Xpeng requested its supply chain to urgently add 5,000 additional component sets before year-end.

But clearly, the X9 is only one step in a broader extended-range strategy, with a faster rollout expected next year.

Li Auto

Li Auto delivered 33,181 vehicles in November, up 4 percent month-on-month.

As of November 30, 2025, cumulative deliveries reached 1,495,969 units.

Entering the pure-EV segment, Li Auto achieved solid early results, with cumulative orders for its i6 and i8 pure EVs exceeding 100,000 units.

To address delivery constraints, Li Auto adopted a dual-battery-supplier model for the i6. According to the company, monthly production capacity for the i6 may reach 20,000 units early next year.

Li Auto’s most important upcoming launch is the fully updated L9, reportedly measuring over 5300 mm in length, equipped with rear-wheel steering and wider tires.

At the autumn closed-door strategy meeting, management acknowledged the company had been “too slow” and underestimated Xiaomi. CEO Li Xiang announced a return to a startup-style management approach.

Whether Li Auto can recreate the explosive success of the early L-series remains to be seen.

Leapmotor

As one of the first new-energy entrants to release results, Leapmotor maintained strong deliveries in November with 70,327 units, up more than 75 percent year-on-year, and up 0.05 percent month-on-month.

While the growth rate did not mirror the surge of prior months, Leapmotor still recorded the highest deliveries among emerging EV players.

In product launches, Leapmotor moved aggressively, with the A10 and D19 unveiled at the Auto Guangzhou 2025—completing the “ABCD” family lineup.

At the end-of-month launch of the Lafa 5, Senior Vice President Cao Li announced that the company had already fulfilled its 500,000-unit annual delivery target ahead of schedule and would pursue 1 million deliveries in 2026, with overseas volume doubling.

The completion of the ABCD family serves as a prerequisite for Leapmotor’s push toward one-million yearly sales.

Xiaomi

As usual, Xiaomi Auto announced only an approximate November figure: more than 40,000 units.

According to data from the China Passenger Car Association, October sales were 48,654 units, close to the 50,000 benchmark.

Although specific November figures have not yet been released, expectations suggest a number significantly exceeding 40,000 units.

With factory efficiency improving, Xiaomi has significantly strengthened delivery capability. The SU7 delivery wait times have been shortened: 3–6 weeks for both the Pro and Max trims.

The company also announced the opening of “immediate inventory purchasing,” which could stimulate incremental demand and improve circulation of showroom vehicles, new units, and lightly-used models.

HIMA

Huawei-backed Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA) delivered 81,864 vehicles in November, up 89.61 percent year-on-year, achieving another record.

Among new products, the Stelato S9 officially launched in November, inheriting key upgrades from the S9T. Orders exceeded 2,000 units within two hours.

Meanwhile, HIMA previewed its first flagship MPV. According to multiple reports, the model may fall under the Luxeed brand and could be named X9 or V9.

Reports also indicate that Maextro will release multiple new models by 2026, including SUV and MPV variants in both standard- and long-wheelbase formats, totaling six models aimed at the luxury segment.

Another upcoming model under AITO—the M6—has been spotted, positioned against the Li Auto L6 and maintaining coexistence with the current M5 rather than replacing it.

Rapid expansion of its AITO lineup is considered a key factor supporting soaring deliveries.

Zeekr

Zeekr Technology delivered 63,902 vehicles in November, up 7.1 percent year-on-year and 3.7 percent month-on-month, including 28,843 units under the Zeekr brand and 35,059 units under Lynk & Co.

The Zeekr 9X, a large six-seat SUV, surpassed 10,000 deliveries in November, with an average transaction price reaching RMB 538,000 ($75,320).

On the Lynk & Co side, the 900 continued to strengthen, exceeding 50,000 units in cumulative deliveries within six months of launch and ranking among the top three premium full-size hybrid SUVs.

To date, Zeekr’s cumulative volume stands at approximately 180,000 units—still short of its 320,000 annual delivery target. December’s fulfillment burden remains heavy.

IM

IM also hit another record, delivering 13,577 vehicles in November, up 3 percent month-on-month.

According to company releases, the latest LS6 continues to drive sales momentum, with strong demand for the 66-kWh extended-range version and new production lines added to secure deliveries.

Beyond the large battery extended-range configuration, features such as active rear-wheel steering remain unique at the RMB 200,000 ($28,000) price level.

In November, IM launched its flagship large six-seat SUV, the LS9, starting at RMB 322,800 ($45,190). Orders surpassed 5,000 within 25 minutes of launch, signaling clear market potential.

To sustain long-term growth, IM will need not only a more complete product portfolio but also a distinct market identity to compete in an increasingly crowded field.

Voyah

Voyah broke the 20,000-unit threshold in November, up 16 percent month-on-month—the highest in its history.

Through deep cooperation with Huawei, Voyah appears to have found a “growth code.”

In October, the FREE+, Dreamer and Passion models delivered fairly balanced results. Whether the same balance holds in November remains to be seen.

Voyah confirmed in its delivery report that the Chasing Light L will launch on December 10.

The recently launched Taishan model will experience its first full delivery month in December.

Positioned as a domestic flagship six-seat SUV, Taishan is equipped with a standard 65-kWh battery pack and a three-chamber air suspension.

It is priced from RMB 379,900 ($53,186), with expectations of lifting Voyah’s sales further.

Including the upcoming Passion L, all Voyah models now offer the Harmony cockpit and the Qian-Kun ADS intelligent driving system. December deliveries may bring additional surprises.

BAIC New Energy

BAIC New Energy reported November sales of 32,328 vehicles, up 112.71% year-on-year. For January–November 2025, BAIC BluePark sold a total of 174,400 vehicles, an increase of 78.93% from a year earlier.

The new Stelato S9 was officially launched ahead of the Auto Guangzhou 2025, featuring ADS4 Qian-Kun intelligent driving with three solid-state LiDAR sensors.

The model aligns with the S9T in interior design and cabin configuration, and secured over 2,000 firm orders within two hours of launch.

Meanwhile, reports indicate BAIC BluePark’s RMB 6 billion (approx. $840 million) refinancing project has been approved, with funds allocated toward new NEV development and an AI-centric intelligent platform.

BAIC New Energy is expected to deepen cooperation with Huawei, aiming for breakthroughs in the premium NEV market.

On the software side, the Galaxy A7 received its first OTA update on November 11, featuring the Thousand-Mile Vast AD H3 advanced driver-assistance package.

The Galaxy M9 continues to perform strongly, with the 20,000th unit rolling off the production line in November—less than three months after launch—signaling robust delivery capacity.

As the product portfolio expands, Galaxy is moving toward its next volume milestone. After surpassing 1 million annual deliveries, what’s the next major target?

BYD

From January to November 2025, BYD Group sold a total of 4,182,038 vehicles, including 916,764 passenger vehicles and pickups overseas—reflecting strong export momentum.

Supported by steady volume growth from the N8L and Tai 7, the Denza and Fangchengbao brands reported meaningful improvement.

According to Fangchengbao General Manager Xiong Tianbo, the rugged off-road SUV category is demonstrating strong market potential, and the Tai 7’s performance appears to validate that consumer trend.
