China’s November Pickup Exports Hit 32,000 Units,  New Energy Surging 152% YoY

Great Wall Motor continues to lead pickups with steady domestic and overseas performance.

According to the latest data from the China Passenger Car Association, in November 2025, sales in China’s pickup truck market reached 56,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 18.8%, reaching a high level in nearly five years. Production and sales remained basically balanced, with production in November at 52,000 units, up 8% year-on-year.

Interestingly, the domestic market shows distinct regional characteristics. The southwestern and northwestern regions have become the main areas for pickup truck demand, accounting for 45% of the total demand.

In terms of the specific performance of manufacturers, Great Wall Motors continues to maintain a strong leading position in the pickup truck segment, with stable performance both domestically and internationally. Data shows that in November 2025, Great Wall Motors sold 16,011 pickup trucks, achieving a commanding lead, followed by Changan Automobile (7,135 units) and SAIC Maxus (6,484 units).

Meanwhile, exports have become the main growth driver for the pickup truck market. In November 2025, national pickup truck exports reached 32,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 54%, accounting for 57% of total sales that month. From January to November, cumulative pickup truck exports reached 268,000 units, up 22% year-on-year, representing 52% of total sales during the period.

Even more notable is the explosive growth of new energy pickup trucks—sales in November reached 8,000 units, surging 152% year-on-year and 40% month-on-month. From January to November this year, cumulative sales of new energy pickup trucks reached 67,000 units, with a growth rate as high as 335%.

The report indicates that a preliminary competitive landscape among major brands in the new energy sector has taken shape: BYD pickup trucks led in overseas sales, reaching 3,594 units in November; Geely Radar’s electric pickup truck sales were 2,057 units; Changan’s range-extended pickup trucks and Zhengzhou Nissan’s new energy models sold 898 and 853 units, respectively.
