According to the plan, Cedar 1.4.0 and Cedar S 1.4.0 are currently scheduled for filing submission by the end of January.
NIO’s Vice President of Product, Ted, disclosed today that the filing time for the Banyan 3.3.0 update has been adjusted to mid-January 2026, a delay of about 10 days from the original plan.
Ted stated that the iteration delay is primarily because the testing and experience iteration cycles took longer than expected. However, the new version’s upgrades in the smart cockpit and intelligent driving assistance are certain to deliver tangible improvements in user experience.
Meanwhile, Ted also previewed the functional upgrade points that Banyan 3.3.0 will bring across various modules.
Smart Cockpit Module
- iPhone UWB Digital Key will be delivered for all models, enabling precise sensing and smooth unlocking.
- A new map theme will be added to the instrument cluster screen, allowing free switching with the original intelligent driving theme. The layout of the new HUD has been optimized and can seamlessly interact with the instrument theme.
- Blind-spot turning camera view can be clearly displayed on the HUD. The parking camera interface now supports memory for the wheel hub view.
- Volume adjustment introduces a new hearing protection mechanism. The logic of the steering wheel volume buttons has been optimized synchronously, now supporting control of multimedia volume only, effectively avoiding accidental adjustments to NOMI’s volume. Furthermore, NOMI’s Q&A feature now supports deeper contemplation, providing more insightful answers.
- Users who upgrade to NOMI Mate 3.0 can unlock 11 dance moves for “NOMI Shake Together” and gain 27 new colorful, exclusive music emojis.

In the Intelligent Driving Assistance module, the NIO World Model (NWM) will receive an iterative upgrade, adding new functions and optimizing experiences in scenarios like driving, parking, and active safety.
It is worth noting that the upgrade to the NIO World Model (NWM) will also be extended to the Cedar and Cedar S intelligent systems. In the subsequent Cedar 1.4.0 and Cedar S 1.4.0 versions, experience upgrades for driving, parking, active safety, and other scenarios will also be introduced.

Additionally, there will be satisfaction-oriented optimizations for different vehicle models: For example, the ET9 will add AR-HUD blind spot pedestrian warnings and ambient light cinema follow mode. The new ES8 will launch a zone-exclusive sound field mode, supporting a dual-source, same-playback experience partitioned for the entire cabin. The 2025 models 5566 will gain the ability to recognize wet, slippery epoxy floors and control speed accordingly, enhancing driving reassurance.
According to the plan, Cedar 1.4.0 and Cedar S 1.4.0 are currently scheduled for filing submission by the end of January.
