Huawei-Backed AITO Leads China’s NEV Brands With ASP Reaching $55,570 in 2025

AITO has now formed a core product lineup centered on the M9, M8, M7 and M5.

On February 3, AITO, the automotive brand jointly developed by Seres and Huawei, disclosed that its average selling price (ASP) per vehicle reached RMB 386,000 ($55,570) in 2025, ranking first among China’s new energy vehicle startup brands.

Earlier, on January 13, AITO rolled its one-millionth vehicle off the production line at Seres’ Chongqing plant, with the milestone unit being the AITO M9.

From its first vehicle to the one-millionth, AITO took 46 months to reach the mark, becoming the fifth NEV startup brand in China—after Li Auto, Leapmotor, XPeng and NIO—to surpass cumulative production of one million units.

The company has set a target of completing its second million vehicles within the next two years.

AITO has now formed a core product lineup centered on the M9, M8, M7 and M5. Among them, the M9, positioned as a full-size luxury SUV, has been the key model driving the brand’s move upmarket.

By the time the one-million-unit milestone was reached, cumulative deliveries of the M9 had exceeded 270,000 units. The model has ranked first in net promoter score among new energy vehicles for four consecutive evaluation periods.

The AITO M8, launched in both extended-range and battery-electric versions in 2025, has also become a major new growth driver.

Within eight months of launch, cumulative deliveries of the M8 exceeded 150,000 units, consistently ranking as the top-selling model in the RMB 400,000 ($55,710) price segment.

After establishing a firm foothold in the premium market, AITO is now expanding toward the mid-range segment.

Huawei’s consumer business HIMA on February 3 released official teaser images of the upcoming AITO M6.

According to previously disclosed information from Huawei executive Richard Yu, the AITO M6 is scheduled to launch in the second quarter of this year.

Positioned to compete with the Li Auto L6, it will primarily target the RMB 250,000–300,000 ($36,000–$43,000) price range.

This segment had previously been a gap in AITO’s product matrix. With the M6 entering the market, AITO will achieve full price coverage from RMB 200,000 to RMB 600,000 ($28,800–$86,400).

Latest data show that AITO delivered 40,016 vehicles in January, down 31% month-on-month but up 83% year-on-year.
