- GM plans to rebadge Wuling’s Bingo Pro as an affordable Chevrolet EV for overseas markets.
- The compact hatchback will target Brazil, Mexico and emerging markets with $8.4–$10.5 price positioning.
- Bingo Pro’s rapid sales—30,000+ units in 38 days—proves demand for cheap urban electric cars.
General Motors is planning to license the Wuling Bingo Pro through the SAIC-GM-Wuling joint venture and rebadge it under the Chevrolet brand for sale in multiple overseas markets, according to people familiar with the matter cited by GM Authority.
If approved, the model would become Chevrolet’s new entry-level all-electric hatchback for international markets, further expanding the brand’s global EV portfolio.

According to the report, the vehicle is expected to be launched in Brazil, Mexico and other emerging markets across Latin America, Africa and Asia.
Compact hatchbacks have long held a significant share of these markets, where demand continues to grow for affordable battery electric vehicles with low operating costs.
The model is also expected to carry forward Chevrolet’s legacy in economical small cars and is being positioned as a spiritual successor to the Geo Metro.
The Geo Metro became a well-known entry-level vehicle in North America thanks to its low purchase price and fuel efficiency.
In the EV era, GM is looking to preserve that positioning with a battery-electric platform.
This would not be the first time GM has expanded its global lineup by rebadging vehicles developed in China.

In recent years, the automaker has increasingly leveraged SAIC-GM-Wuling’s mature vehicle platforms, adapting them for overseas markets before selling them under the Chevrolet brand.
The Chevrolet Spark EUV, for example, is based on the Baojun Yep Plus, while the Chevrolet Captiva EV is derived from the Wuling Xingguang S, both following a similar rebadging strategy.
The Wuling Bingo Pro was launched in China on May 22 with four variants priced between RMB 56,800 ($8,385) and RMB 70,800 ($10,452).
The model is offered with 31.9 kWh and 37.9 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery packs, delivering CLTC ranges of 330 km and 403 km, respectively, and is positioned as an urban commuter vehicle.
During the pre-sale period, the Bingo Pro received more than 50,000 firm orders. Just 13 days after its official launch, terminal sales exceeded 20,000 units.

As of the end of June, official data showed the model had surpassed 30,000 cumulative retail sales within 38 days of launch, making it one of Wuling’s fastest-growing models this year.
If the project proceeds, Chevrolet is expected to revise the vehicle’s exterior styling and introduce it under a dedicated model name, following the same approach used for several previous SAIC-GM-Wuling-derived Chevrolet EVs.
