- SAIC launches a purpose-built Robotaxi mass-production program with a 2027 debut.
- Momenta supplies L4 autonomy while EnjoyGo handles product and fleet operations.

At the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC), SAIC’s mobility service platform EnjoyGo officially announced the launch of SAIC’s Robotaxi mass-production vehicle program, with the new model scheduled to debut in 2027.
According to the company, the vehicle will become Shanghai’s first high-level autonomous driving model developed specifically for front-loaded mass production, as well as SAIC’s first production vehicle designed specifically for Robotaxi operations.
The project is jointly developed by SAIC Motor, Momenta and EnjoyGo. SAIC will oversee vehicle manufacturing, while Momenta will provide autonomous driving technology.
EnjoyGo will be responsible for product definition and operational deployment, creating an integrated ecosystem covering development, production, intelligent driving and fleet operations.
Unlike conventional vehicles, the Robotaxi model is being developed around commercial operation requirements from the initial project planning stage.
EnjoyGo said the vehicle design will balance passenger experience and operational efficiency, including optimizing interior space utilization, improving ride comfort, reducing lifecycle operating costs and enhancing fleet management efficiency.
Robotaxi has become a key pathway toward autonomous driving commercialization, but the sector continues to face challenges including high vehicle costs and limited operational efficiency.
As a result, more companies are moving toward purpose-built mass-production vehicles instead of retrofitting existing production models, aiming to reduce deployment costs while improving vehicle reliability and maintenance efficiency.
As a mobility service brand under SAIC Motor, EnjoyGo has been developing Robotaxi operations for several years.
One of the earlier automotive-backed platforms in China to launch L4 autonomous driving operations, SAIC Mobilit’s Robotaxi officially began commercial trials in 2021.
In 2023, the company received Shanghai’s first batch of intelligent connected vehicle taxi demonstration operation licenses and Suzhou’s first Robotaxi demonstration operation permit.
In 2025, EnjoyGo Robotaxi formed a strategic partnership with Momenta and deployed an L4 Robotaxi fleet in Shanghai’s Pudong district based on a front-loaded mass-production approach.
The same year, EnjoyGo, together with IM Motors and Saike Intelligent, obtained Shanghai’s first regulation-based driverless demonstration operation license.
The companies also launched an L4 Robotaxi route connecting Shanghai International Tourism Resort and Shanghai Pudong International Airport, becoming Shanghai’s first autonomous driving demonstration project covering both urban roads and expressway networks.
To date, EnjoyGo Robotaxi has completed more than 350,000 orders and accumulated over 4 million kilometers of safe autonomous operation, providing operational data and real-world scenarios for the development of mass-produced autonomous vehicles.
Beyond autonomous driving, EnjoyGo is also advancing its capital market plans.
On May 22, the company submitted its second listing application to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
According to its prospectus, industry players including Momenta, Amap and CATL have become investors in the company.
Based on gross transaction value (GTV), EnjoyGo ranked sixth in China’s ride-hailing market in 2025, with a market share of approximately 1.8%.
