BYD held the delivery ceremony for the 10,000th DaTang SUV on the evening of July 23, while announcing the completion of the first flash charging station in the Altay region.
At the event, BYD officially released exterior images of the DaHan sedan and teased “See you in Chengdu.” The new model is expected to make its official debut at the 2026 Chengdu Auto Show in August.

In fact, the DaHan had already appeared on the MIIT filing list in June.
Positioned as a D-segment sedan, the DaHan is the first “9 Series” flagship sedan under BYD’s Dynasty lineup. It measures 5,256mm in length, 1,999mm in width, and 1,510mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,130mm.
The DaHan will be available in both pure electric and plug-in hybrid versions. The pure electric version is equipped with a 102.326kWh battery pack, offering CLTC ranges of 820km, 850km, 880km, 970km, and up to 1,008km. The plug-in hybrid version comes with a 54.489kWh battery, delivering a CLTC pure electric range of 450km.
BYD’s exterior updates are mainly focused on the front fascia and rear design. The most noticeable change is the replacement of the previous decorative strip with a seamless full-width daytime running light bar, featuring an illuminated “Han” logo in the center for a more tech-forward look.

The front bumper also gains vertical air-guide structures, and a roof-mounted LiDAR unit suggests strong intelligent driving capabilities.
At the rear, the DaHan adopts a full-width taillight design with integrated “Chinese knot” elements, continuing the family design language of the Han series. Compared to earlier models, the taillights are slimmer and more streamlined, while the broad rear shoulders reinforce the flagship sedan’s commanding presence.

For the chassis, the DaHan is expected to mirror the DaTang’s setup, including front double wishbone and rear multi-link independent suspension, rear-wheel steering, and the DiSus-A dual-chamber air suspension system to enhance both comfort and handling.
As the first 9 Series flagship sedan in the Dynasty lineup, the DaHan plays a key role in BYD’s push into the premium mid-to-high-end market.
Based on the pricing of the Seal 08 (starting at around RMB 196.9K / $29.1K) and the DaTang (starting at RMB 239.9K / $35.4K), the DaHan is expected to be priced between RMB 210K ($31.0K) and RMB 230K ($33.9K), directly competing in the 200K-level new energy sedan market.

It’s worth noting that the DaTang reached 10,000 deliveries just 37 days after its launch. According to earlier estimates by ChinaEV Home, the DaTang’s cumulative orders may have exceeded 90K units, with a substantial order backlog still in place.
In June, the AITO M9 led the full-siez SUV segment with 10,070 units sold. If the DaTang maintains its current delivery ramp-up pace, it could soon top the segment — one of the most competitive battlegrounds for premium Chinese NEV brands.
Looking ahead, with the upcoming launch of the SeaLion 08, BYD’s main brand will establish a flagship lineup featuring the Ocean Series’s “Double 8 Series” and the Dynasty Series’s “Double 9 Series,” further strengthening its competitiveness in the RMB 200K+ premium new energy market.
