- Denza launches Z9S pre-sales Aug 3 as a premium electric coupe sedan targeting mid-to-high-end buyers.
- Z9S packs BYD 102.326 kWh Blade battery with single-motor 920 km and tri-motor 780 km CLTC ranges.
- Expected ~RMB250,000 price pits Z9S directly against Xiaomi SU7, Tesla Model 3 and new domestic rivals.
On July 29, BYD’s premium brand Denza announced that its pure-electric coupe sedan Denza Z9S will officially open for pre-sales on August 3.

As the third model in the Denza Z9 family following the Z9 and Z9 GT, the Z9S further expands Denza’s presence in the mid-to-high-end pure-electric sedan market.
Based on currently released official information, the Denza Z9S continues the design language of the Z9 family, featuring a low-slung fastback-style body.
The vehicle is equipped with a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor, Denza’s intelligent driving indicator lights, semi-hidden door handles and an active rear spoiler.
Inside, the new model adopts a purple-and-white dual-tone cabin design, featuring a floating central display and retaining some physical buttons.

According to previous filings with China’s MIIT, the Denza Z9S has a wheelbase of 3,025 mm and is positioned as a five-seat pure-electric sedan.
The model will be offered in two power versions. The lower-power version delivers a maximum output of 320 kW, while the higher-power version increases output to 370 kW. Both variants have a top speed of 250 km/h.
For range, the Z9S is equipped across the lineup with BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery, featuring a capacity of 102.326 kWh.
The single-motor version offers a CLTC-rated range of 920 km, while the tri-motor version delivers 780 km.

Considering the updated Denza Z9 GT, which also uses the second-generation Blade Battery and fast-charging technology, starts at RMB 269,800 ($39,841), market expectations suggest the Z9S could have a starting price of around RMB 250,000 ($36,920).
After launch, the Z9S is expected to compete with models including the Xiaomi SU7, Tesla Model 3, as well as newer entrants such as SAIC Z7/Z7T and Aistaland GT7.
Currently, Denza is accelerating the rollout of new products.
On July 9, the brand’s first pure-electric two-door supercar, Denza Z, made its global debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK, followed by the opening of domestic pre-sales on July 13.

Previously, models including the Denza Z9 and Z9 GT entered the market successively, gradually forming a product portfolio covering sedans and sports cars.
In terms of sales performance, Denza has been gradually improving its market momentum this year.
Data showed that Denza delivered 20,352 vehicles in June, representing a 28.9% year-on-year increase and a 24.8% month-on-month rise.
Monthly deliveries surpassed the 20,000-unit threshold for the first time, bringing first-half deliveries to 66,541 units.
