Stelato G9 Interior Revealed With Triple Screens, Physical Controls

Stelato, the Huawei-BAIC joint automotive brand, has released a preview video of its upcoming G9 SUV, revealing key interior features ahead of the official debut.

The G9 takes a different approach from many new energy vehicles that have moved toward fully touch-based interfaces. The cabin retains a large number of metal physical controls, blending luxury styling with practical operation for off-road scenarios.

The center console features a signature circular control dial with a metal-textured finish and the Stelato logo. Multiple metal toggle switches surround the dial. Below the central display, the G9 adopts a full-width strip of vertical-textured metal buttons. Each button carries clear function icons, while a HUAWEI logo is integrated into the center control area.

The roof console also features multiple physical metal buttons, enabling quick access to functions such as one-touch roof tent deployment and lighting controls. The control elements use a matte knurled metal finish, creating a mechanical feel similar to premium gasoline-powered off-road SUVs. The design stands out among EV cabins increasingly dominated by large touchscreens.

Huawei Executive Director Richard Yu previously shared a real-world test video showing the Stelato G9 navigating muddy terrain. The footage also revealed additional interior details. From the cabin view, the G9 features an integrated triple-screen cockpit paired with an AR-HUD head-up display system.

The layout supports driving information projection, central infotainment control, and passenger entertainment. The SUV adopts an electronic column-mounted shifter, replacing a traditional gear selector to free up additional storage space beneath the center console.

The revealed cabin design matches the G9’s positioning as a full-size luxury rugged SUV.

The G9 adopts a boxy off-road-inspired body design. The vehicle measures 5,206mm in length, 2,050mm in width, and 1,897mm in height, with a 3,160mm wheelbase. With an optional rear storage package, the vehicle length extends to 5,377mm. It also features a side-opening tailgate, factory-rated towing capacity of up to 2,000kg, optional side steps, tow hooks, roof racks, and a 900mm wading depth.

Under the skin, the G9 comes standard with all-wheel drive, an 800V high-voltage range-extender platform, and Huawei-developed dual motors. The system delivers a combined peak output of 437kW.

The range-extender version offers more than 400km of CLTC pure-electric range and over 1,300km of combined range. The pure-electric version features a 120kWh ternary lithium battery pack, delivering more than 700km of CLTC range.

For intelligent driving, the G9 is equipped with three Huawei 896-line solid-state LiDAR units, supporting Huawei’s full-scenario ADS intelligent driving system. The model has received a Beijing permit for 120km/h highway L3 autonomous driving tests. It is also the first vehicle in Beijing approved for L3 road testing under nighttime conditions.

Lay Peng, Product Director for Huawei’s HIMA vehicle program (Stelato series), previously clarified the G9’s positioning. The SUV is not designed as a traditional body-on-frame hardcore off-roader. Instead, it is positioned as a luxury rugged SUV, combining urban driving comfort, premium cabin experience, and off-road capability. The model aims to bridge the gap between urban SUVs and extreme off-road vehicles.

The Stelato G9 is scheduled to make its official debut at a launch event on August 5 at 14:30. Huawei’s flagship MPV under the Maextro brand will also appear at the event.
