Li Auto’s i6, one of the automaker’s key volume models, is expected to receive an update soon, based on changes seen on Li Auto’s official configuration page.
Several high-end options for the current i6 are no longer available for selection, leaving customers with only entry-level configurations.
Popular paid options, including 21-inch wheels, dual-motor all-wheel drive, rear entertainment screens and Platinum audio systems, now display the message: “Current configuration unavailable, please contact a product specialist.”
The configuration lock follows a similar pattern seen before Li Auto’s previous product updates.
Before the i8 update, Li Auto’s official app also restricted high-end options shortly before the refreshed model was launched. The same situation now appearing on the i6 suggests the update could arrive soon.
Beyond the app changes, heavily camouflaged road-test vehicles of the updated i6 have also surfaced online.
Based on the exterior profile, the updated i6 is expected to retain similar dimensions and overall styling compared with the current model. The update appears to be a yearly refresh rather than a full model change.
Interior spy shots have also emerged. The cabin layout remains largely consistent with the current i6, while several details have been revised.
The center display and passenger screen are expected to merge into a single wide-screen layout, removing the black divider between the two displays. The small screen above the steering wheel has also been removed, bringing the cabin design closer to the latest L-series models.
If the updated i6 launches this year, Li Auto’s entire lineup could complete a product refresh cycle in 2026, including the previously leaked all-new MEGA.
Beyond refreshed models, Li Auto is also preparing its flagship pure-electric SUV, the i9.
According to regulatory filings, the Li Auto i9 measures 5,225 mm in length, 1,970 mm in width and 1,752 mm in height, with a 3,168 mm wheelbase. The model targets the full-size pure-electric SUV segment.
The i9 will come standard with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, featuring a 150 kW front motor and a 250 kW rear motor. Its battery packs will be supplied by Sunwoda and Jiangsu Times. Buyers will also have options for side-mounted LiDAR and rear LiDAR units.
The model will introduce a Home version, making it Li Auto’s second vehicle carrying the Home badge after MEGA. The version targets premium family mobility scenarios.
Li Auto’s sales structure has already shifted toward pure-electric models. In the first half of 2026, the pure-electric i6 delivered 120,443 units, accounting for more than 62% of Li Auto’s total sales. Meanwhile, the L6, L7, L8 and L9 range-extender models, previously the company’s sales pillars, delivered a combined 61K units, trailing behind the pure-electric lineup.
With the i6 update, i8 update, all-new MEGA and flagship i9 rolling out, Li Auto’s pure-electric product matrix will be further strengthened.
