SAIC Audi Launches AUDI E7X Pioneer quattro Passion Edition at a limited-time price of RMB 309,800 ($46,080) at the Chengdu Auto Show on Aug. 21.
The new version is priced RMB 20,000 ($2,975) below the RMB 329,800 ($49,060) price of the Pioneer quattro launched in May.

The E7X debuted at the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Auto Show in May, positioned as a midsize electric SUV with a starting price of RMB 269,800 ($40,140).
The vehicle is built on the ADP next-generation intelligent digital platform jointly developed by SAIC and Audi.
It is the platform’s first SUV and the second production model after the E5 Sportback.
Unlike conventional Audi models, the E7X and E5 Sportback do not carry the four-ring logo, instead using the AUDI wordmark.
The new Passion Edition is not simply a price adjustment, but also adds hardware to the chassis and all-wheel-drive system.
It retains a dual-motor quattro all-wheel-drive system and adds 14-degree bidirectional rear-wheel steering, ZF CDC continuously variable damping shock absorbers, Continental air suspension and an all-aluminum chassis.

Alongside the price reduction, Audi has expanded interior customization options.
The “Gilded Brown” interior, previously available as an optional upgrade, is now offered across the E7X lineup and is free during the limited-time promotion.
The E7X’s order mix also helped drive the latest model adjustment.
SAIC Audi said quattro versions account for more than 60% of total orders since launch, with the Pioneer quattro accounting for 55% of orders.
Meanwhile, about 57% of buyers are trading in or replacing vehicles from German brands.
This suggests that E7X buyers are not primarily first-time NEV customers, with a significant share coming from replacement demand among traditional premium-brand owners.

The E7X has emerged as an important source of incremental sales for SAIC Audi this year.
The model delivered 4,017 units in its first month on the market, setting a record for first-month deliveries among new battery-electric models launched by BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Audi.
It also ranks among the top three in China’s RMB 300,000 ($40,280)-class electric SUV segment.
E7X deliveries reached 3,007 units in July, keeping the model among the top three in the RMB 300,000 ($44,630)-class electric SUV segment for a second consecutive month.
By comparison, the E5 Sportback delivered just 173 units in July, highlighting a widening gap in market performance between the two models.
The E7X is now more than just the second model under the AUDI wordmark. It has become a key volume driver for SAIC Audi’s electric-vehicle business.
