The new IM L6 retains the brand’s signature design language, featuring distinctive L-shaped headlights and full-width taillights.

The wheel design has also received minor revisions from the current model.

The new car measures 4,924 mm in length, 1,960 mm in width and 1,474 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,950 mm.

Compared with the relatively limited exterior changes, IM has made more substantial upgrades to the vehicle’s core technologies, including its chassis, electric powertrain and driver-assistance systems.

The new L6 adopts SAIC’s next-generation NEO EV architecture and is offered with both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations.

The single-motor versions are available with 245-kW and 300-kW motors, paired with 76-kWh and 93-kWh battery packs, respectively.

Their CLTC-rated electric ranges are 725 km and 850 km, respectively.

The dual-motor all-wheel-drive version delivers a combined output of 500 kW and is equipped with a 103-kWh battery pack, providing a CLTC-rated electric range of 840 km.

The entire L6 lineup uses a steer-by-wire chassis, featuring Continental’s MK C2 brake-by-wire system and front-wheel steering-by-wire, with three selectable steering ratios.

For driver assistance, the new model is equipped with IM’s IM AD system, jointly developed with Momenta, and supports Momenta’s World Model as well as map-free Navigation on Autopilot (NOA).

The changes are broadly consistent with IM’s NEXT·2028 product strategy unveiled on Aug. 21.

Under the strategy, SAIC’s next-generation NEO EV architecture, fully steer-by-wire chassis and IM Claw AI agent will form the common technology foundation for future IM models, eliminating technology differentiation based on different trim levels.

In terms of brand sales, IM has improved its overall performance this year, although volumes for individual models remain relatively limited.

In July 2026, IM recorded retail sales of 5,900 vehicles across its lineup, with the LS6 accounting for 3,352 units and the L6 for only 1,030 units.

From January to July, IM’s cumulative sales reached 45,552 vehicles, up 82.45% YoY.
