This blogger has gained significant attention for frequently releasing information related to Tesla, and the reliability and exclusivity of his sources suggest a close connection with Tesla’s internal operations.

Just a day earlier, the blogger revealed that Tesla is preparing a new model with the code name E80. There were previously two guesses about the positioning of E80: one was that it would be a cheaper version of the Model Y, and the other was that it might be an updated Model Y Performance version. Now it seems that this code name could actually refer to the extended – axle version of the Model Y?

This move by Tesla to introduce the extended – axle version of the Model Y in China is likely aimed at attracting family users to counteract the decline in sales.

It should be noted that the wheelbase of the overseas three – row – seat Tesla Model Y is 2,890mm. Compared with domestic three – row – seat SUVs, there’s a marked difference.

The wheelbase of mainstream domestic three – row – seat SUVs is usually over 2,900mm, with some mid – size or large ones exceeding 3,000mm. For instance, the Le Dao L90 has a wheelbase of 3,110mm and third – row space of 820mm.

This year, many large – sized SUVs from Chinese NEV brands will hit the market. With excellent specs and space performance, Tesla faces a tough challenge to enter the family – user market.
