This noon, Harry, Head of Autonomous Driving Product and Experience at NIO, released an unedited single-take video demonstrating the World Model’s Point-to-point full-domain Navigate-on-Pilot (NOP) system.
Harry said, “The first version of the NIO World Model was finalized yesterday. Friends using the Banyan and Cedar systems, please stay tuned for good news.”
The 39.3-kilometer test route traversed 23 traffic lights, showcasing seamless navigation from an underground residential parking space through urban roads and highways, ultimately arriving at a surface parking lot.
From the video, the first version of the NIO World Model will introduce functions like parking space-to-parking space navigation and independent ETC passage at highway toll booths. The experience in traffic circles, complex intersections, and detours is also smooth and stable.
Note that these are just some functions of the first version. More details about the World Model will be revealed tonight at the launch event of the new ES6 and EC6 models.
NIO confirmed its sub-brand ONVO’s L60 model will implement end-to-end neural network architecture upgrades in future OTA releases, significantly advancing intelligent driving capabilities.
