On May 19, Geely Galaxy officially announced the name of its latest flagship SUV—M9, positioned as an AI-powered full-size six-seater SUV.

According to the brand, the letter “M” signifies not only Galaxy’s first high-end model following its million-unit sales milestone, but also stands for “Master” (refined quality), “Mountain” (cutting-edge technology), and “Moment” (beautiful experiences)—a symbol of Galaxy’s premium ambitions and technological culmination.

Based on the all-new GEA Evo architecture, the M9 will be equipped with Geely’s signature technologies, including the Thor EM super hybrid system (with thermal efficiency reaching 46.5%), Aegis battery, and AI-powered digital chassis—essentially bringing together the best of Geely’s current tech arsenal.
Following the Lynk & Co 900 and Zeekr 9X, the Galaxy M9 becomes the third full-size SUV from the Geely Group. Judging by its size, the M9 is set to go head-to-head with other popular six-seater flagships like the AITO M9 and Li Auto L9, intensifying the competition in this segment.

Notably, 2025 is shaping up to be the breakout year for large six-seater SUVs. A wave of “9-series” models—such as the ONVO L90 and Deepal S09—are entering the market, most priced around the ¥300,000 mark, making this one of the most hotly contested SUV battlegrounds of the year.
