NIO Adds 25 New Power Stations, Fast-Tracking County-Level Charging Network Completion

NIO announced today the launch of 25 new NIO Power charging and battery swap stations, with more than half of them located in Chongqing.

Chongqing, known as the “Mountain City” with complex terrain, has long faced challenges in promoting pure electric vehicles. In particular, in Fuling and Dianjiang, the number of electric vehicle users is relatively low, and charging resources are scarce. This large-scale deployment of charging and battery swap stations in Chongqing indicates that NIO is actively promoting the construction of charging stations in the area.

This move is also closely related to NIO’s national strategy. As early as February this year, William Li, founder of NIO, revealed in a live broadcast that by the end of June this year, NIO would achieve “County-Level Charging Coverage” in all provincial-level administrative regions in China, excluding Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan. By the end of this year, 27 provinces across the country will complete “County-level Swap Station Coverage.” It is now early June, and the time for the target to be assessed is approaching.

As of June, the number of charging stations deployed by NIO across the country has exceeded 3,300, with more than 25,000 charging piles. The company has already achieved “charging access in every county” in several provincial-level administrative regions, including Guangdong, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang, covering more than 2,800 county-level administrative regions.
