Formula Leopard T7 Interior Revealed: Familiar DNA, Five Seats and More Space

A new set of spy shots has surfaced online, offering the first glimpse into the interior of the Formula Leopard T7—a mid-to-large SUV that marks the fourth entry in BYD’s Formula Leopard lineup.

From the images, it’s clear that the Leopard T7 inherits much of the design language from the Leopard 8 but introduces several refinements aimed at improving everyday usability. These include optimized space utilization and more practical functional zoning, signaling a shift toward a more family-oriented positioning.

The cabin features a conventional layout with a large floating central touchscreen and a digital instrument cluster. The steering wheel features the familiar four-spoke design, but this time incorporates a column-mounted shifter, differing slightly from the layouts found in the Leopard 8 and Leopard 5. Notably, the passenger-side entertainment screen has been removed, giving the interior a cleaner, more understated feel.

Compared to the Leopard 8’s emphasis on a three-row seating configuration, the T7 leans more towards a five-seat setup. The rear seats support a 1/3 split-folding function. When folded down, they create a nearly flat cargo space.

Although the leaked images don’t reveal the full vehicle body, previous spy shots suggest the T7 shares the same overall silhouette as the Leopard 8. It continues to employ rigid lines, pronounced wheel arches, and a high-bodied stance.

Reports indicate that the T7’s dimensions may potentially exceed those of the Leopard 8. For reference, the Leopard 8 measures close to 5.2 meters in length with a wheelbase of 2920mm. Should this hold true, the T7 would become Formula Leopard’s largest model to date, potentially offering some pleasant surprises in terms of interior space.

Official powertrain details have yet to be released. Considering the Leopard 8 utilizes a 2.0T range extender + electric four-wheel drive system, the T7 is highly likely to follow this technical route.

The Formula Leopard T7 is expected to make its official debut in the second half of this year, when more information about its exterior, interior features, and full specifications will be revealed.
