Spy Shots Suggest New AITO M7 Takes Design Cues From M8

Recently, a set of spy photos suspected to be of the new AITO M7 has sparked heated discussions online.

Judging from the spy photos, the new AITO M7 has undergone significant changes in its exterior design. The overall style appears to be moving closer to that of the AITO M8, presenting a more grand and stable demeanor. The prominent muscle lines on both sides of the hood remain eye-catching, adding a sense of power while continuing the design DNA of the AITO family. On the side of the vehicle, the front end is more plump compared to the current model, with a stronger visual impact. The wheels have been upgraded to a multi-spoke design, paired with semi-hidden door handles, which are expected to further improve the vehicle’s range performance.

In terms of the interior, the dashboard frame lines are more straight, echoing the central control screen, and the cup holders have been changed to a side-by-side placement, enhancing both the sense of technology and practicality.

Regarding power, no more information has been revealed yet. Referring to the current model, it is equipped with a hybrid system composed of a 1.5T four-cylinder range extender and a Huawei motor, and it has a 40-kilowatt-hour battery pack. The single-motor rear-wheel-drive version has a maximum power of 200 kilowatts, a CLTC pure-electric range of 230 kilometers, a comprehensive range of 1,220 kilometers, an acceleration time of 7.8 seconds to reach 100 kilometers per hour, and a comprehensive fuel consumption of 5.8 liters per 100 kilometers.

In terms of pricing, the current AITO M7 is priced between 245,800 and 325,800 yuan. Since its launch, its sales volume has been continuously rising, achieving a cumulative delivery of over 190,000 units in 2024. However, with the intensification of market competition and the diversion of sales by its own new models, its sales volume has declined somewhat, with a current monthly sales volume of around 5,000 units.

Overall, the new M7 is likely to continue to enter the market with a strategy of “more for the same price,” competing directly with the LiAuto L6 (starting at 259,800 yuan) and the expected price of around 300,000 yuan for the LUXEED R7.
