In an effort to wrap up a strong first half of the year, this week saw sales growth for seven carmakers, excluding BYD and Li Auto.
Compared to last week, BYD experienced a 5.8% decrease in sales but still maintained the top spot with 78,570 units sold. The company’s wide range of models covers various price segments, with both hybrid and pure electric models contributing to its dominant market position. In the overseas market, BYD’s seventh roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) ship completed its sea trial on June 27 and is expected to be delivered for use later this month.
Tesla’s sales rebounded this week, with wholesale sales reaching 20,680 units, a 50% increase compared to the previous period. In response to the strong competition from Xiaomi’s YU7, the market generally expected Tesla to adopt a price reduction strategy, but the company unexpectedly raised prices instead. Today, Tesla China announced upgrades to the Model 3/Y Long Range versions and changes to its purchasing policies. Whether this move will help Tesla maintain its market share remains to be seen, and future sales reports will provide more clarity.

According to data shared by automotive blogger @万万_ECC, HIMA (Harmony lntelligent Mobility Alliance) delivered a total of 13,752 vehicles this week, a 9.8% increase from the previous period. AITO Motor, backed by Huawei’s intelligent driving technology, sold 11,734 units, leading the new energy startup brands. Among these, the M9 sold 3,158 units, the M8 sold 5,647 units, and the M7 sold 1,554 units. The LUXEED R7, a model under HIMA, saw limited sales, only reaching 785 units due to strong competition from other brands.
XPeng sold 11,200 units this week, closely following AITO Motor. Key models such as the G6 and P7+ with the XNGP intelligent driving system have firmly established a presence in the RMB 200,000–300,000 pure electric market, thanks to their high cost-performance ratio. The upcoming release of the XPeng G7 in July is expected to further boost the brand’s sales.
Leapmotor continues to perform well, with 10,620 units sold this week. Its total deliveries in June reached 48,006 units, maintaining its leadership among new energy startups for the fourth consecutive month. With the upcoming release of the facelifted C16 and new models like the B01 and C11, Leapmotor is expected to capture more market share from BYD, with annual sales expected to reach 500,000 units.
Xiaomi sold 9,090 units this week, ranking seventh. The launch of the YU7 did not significantly impact the sales of the SU7, with deliveries for the SU7 series remaining stable. After securing over 280,000 pre-orders, the future sales of the YU7 are expected to be promising.
Li Auto celebrated its tenth anniversary today. However, despite the release of an updated version of its models, the company did not see a significant increase in sales. Li Auto sold 7,963 units this week, a 10.8% decrease from the previous period. The L9 sold 980 units, performing well compared to its competitors in the same class. The Li Auto MEGA sold 680 units, surpassing the XPeng G9 and Zeekr 009. The drop in sales may be due to the anticipation surrounding the upcoming release of the all-new pure electric model, the Li Auto i8.
NIO Group sold 6,280 units this week, marking a 21% increase from the previous period. Among these, NIO sold 3,790 units, Onvo sold 1,670 units, and Firefly sold 820 units. The Firefly model, which announced its BaaS policy earlier in June, may have helped drive potential consumer decisions. The total deliveries across all NIO brands in June reached 21,209 units, a 60.2% year-on-year increase. However, NIO still faces challenges in achieving profitability by the fourth quarter.

Among other new energy startups, the sales were as follows:
- Deepal: 5,470 units
- Lantu: 3,335 units
- Zeekr: 3,295 units
- DENZA: 3,013 units
The top ten new energy startups all showed an upward sales trend this week.
With the first half of 2025 now behind us, highly anticipated models like the XPeng G7 and the new AITO M7 are set to be released in the second half. Whether these new releases will cause a significant shake-up in the weekly rankings remains to be seen, and we will continue to closely track these developments.
