Fully equipped with Huawei ADS 4, HIMA’s $28,000-class Shangjie H5 will launch this autumn.
On July 14, HIMA’s sub-brand Shangjie shared a set of official images of the Shangjie H5, marking the official debut of the first model of Shangjie. Subsequently, Richard Yu, Chairman of Huawei’s Board of Directors of the Consumer BG, reposted the images and revealed that the Shangjie H5 will launch with HUAWEI ADS 4.
In terms of exterior design, the new model adopts HIMA’s latest family-style design. The front fascia is clean and highly recognizable, featuring a closed design with integrated headlights on both sides. Below is an active grille, while a lidar unit sits atop the roof. The profile showcases steeply raked A-pillars and D-pillars, with a noticeably forward-shifted A-pillar, moving toward a One Box design that prioritizes aerodynamics and cabin space. Flush door handles ensure daily convenience. The rear features a full-width taillight cluster, complemented by a large roof spoiler and chrome accents on the rear bumper, creating a visually layered effect.

Notably, the new model has cover panels on both sides, indicating that the Shangjie H5 may offer a hybrid powertrain option. Drawing reference from the currently available AITO M5, the hybrid version is expected to adopt a range-extender design, equipped with a 1.5T range extender, delivering a combined CLTC range exceeding 1,000 km. As the Shangjie H5 is built on SAIC Motor’s Modular Scalable Platform (MSP), a pure-electric variant is also likely, offering a CLTC range of around 600 km.
According to earlier announcements, Huawei’s Qiankun Smart Driving, HarmonyOS Smart Cockpit, and other features will come standard on the Shangjie H5. Additionally, the roof lidar is expected to use the same 192-beam lidar as the MAEXTRO S800 and AITO M9, paired with Huawei’s latest 4D millimeter-wave radar, enabling urban Navigation on Autopilot (NOA). For active safety, the Shangjie H5 also features blue ADAS indicator lights.
Product planning positions the Shangjie H5 squarely in the 200,000 RMB ($28,000) mainstream SUV market, targeting families and younger consumers. Following the launch of the Shangjie H5, it will form a dual-model lineup in the 200,000 RMB ($28,000) class alongside the AITO M5 — with the M5 emphasizing youth and sportiness, and the H5 focusing on smart family features. Together, they will compete directly with rivals like the XPeng G7, BYD Song PLUS DM-i, and Tesla Model Y.

Backed by the technological expertise of SAIC Motor and Huawei, the ShangjieH5’s product strength is highly anticipated. The only remaining suspense is its final pricing. If the starting price dips below 200,000 RMB ($28,000), the new model could reshape the mainstream market landscape.
With the Shangjie H5’s official announcement, HIMA’s product lineup is entering a phase of rapid expansion. The Shangjie H5 and the STELATO S9T — two new HIMA models — will launch successively this autumn. The next-generation AITO M7 and the pure-electric AITO M8 are also slated for release this year. Post-launch, the HIMA portfolio will span the full price spectrum from 150,000 RMB to 1,500,000 RMB ($21,000 – $210,000).
