NIO’s 800,000th production vehicle, the ONVO L90, rolled off the line on July 24 and will officially debut on July 31.
On July 25, NIO CEO William Li announced via Weibo that 600 ONVO L90 test-drive units are ready, covering more than 400 stores across 140 cities. The L90 is undergoing intensive production ramp-up at the highest standards, with shipments already rolling out from NIO’s Hefei factory to ensure prompt nationwide delivery.
Photos reveal the parking lot outside the Hefei factory filled with L90 units, highlighting the company’s strategy of achieving “launch-to-delivery” with zero wait times.

The L90’s pre-launch inventory is unusually large, signaling NIO’s high-stakes bet on this model. According to internal sources, over 10,000 ONVO L90 vehicles have been pre-produced, representing a capital lock-up of approximately RMB 2.5 billion ($344 million), based on an average price of RMB 250,000 ($34,400).

This strategy is designed to avoid the delivery delays seen with the ONVO L60, which suffered slow production ramp-ups last year, resulting in delivery volumes falling below 5,000 units for two consecutive months and significant order cancellations.
To ensure seamless fulfillment, the ONVO team began shipping the first batch of vehicles as early as July 7—more than 20 days before the official launch—while also ramping up the factory’s production efficiency.
Yesterday, NIO celebrated the rollout of its 800,000th mass-produced vehicle at its Hefei F1 facility, which happened to be an ONVO L90.

The Hefei F1 factory features China’s first lightweight body manufacturing platform, supporting mixed-line production of all-aluminum and ultra-high-strength steel-aluminum bodies. It leads globally in areas such as end-to-end smart manufacturing, flexible processes, advanced equipment, highly efficient supply chains, and low-carbon sustainability.

Additionally, every L90 undergoes an AI-powered “TianTan” quality inspection system, completing over 1,000 functional checks within just 3 minutes, thanks to the underlying capabilities of the Sky·OS vehicle operating system.
The ONVO L90 is scheduled for official launch on July 31, with nationwide deliveries starting August 1.
