In the first half of 2025, NIO delivered 114,150 new vehicles, achieving 25.9% of its annual sales target.
On July 24, NIO officially announced that its 800,000th mass-produced vehicle rolled off the production line at the NIO F1 plant. The milestone car was the ONVO L90.
Since the delivery of its first ES8 in May 2018, it has taken NIO seven years to overcome production capacity barriers. This milestone also signals that NIO’s manufacturing system and multi-brand strategy have entered a new stage of scale development.

Previously, NIO CEO William Li defined 2025 as the company’s “big product year,” aiming to double its annual sales to 440,000 vehicles compared to 2024. This ambitious goal relies on a three-brand synergy:
- Premium strategy of the main brand: The ET9, priced at RMB 800,000 ($112,000), targets the executive flagship segment. The existing 5566 series (ES6/EC6/ET5, etc.) is undergoing upgrades to enhance competitiveness and support core brand volume.
- ONVO brand driving scale: Positioned in the RMB 200,000–300,000 ($28,000–$42,000) family market. In June, 6,400 units were delivered. The L60 aims to surpass 10,000 monthly sales by December. The upcoming L90 and the L80 (to be unveiled at year-end) will address demand for large 6- to 7-seat SUVs and are expected to become major volume contributors.
- Firefly brand enters the entry-level market: Its first model, starting at RMB 148,800 ($20,832), or RMB 79,800 ($11,172) after BaaS battery subscription, targets the premium compact segment. Firefly will also expand into Europe, Japan, and other overseas markets, aiming at a global subsegment with annual demand in the tens of millions.
According to official data, NIO delivered a total of 114,150 vehicles in the first half of 2025, achieving 25.9% of its annual sales target. This means that NIO must sell over 54,000 units per month in the second half of the year to meet its goal—posing significant pressure for a rapid sales ramp-up.

While celebrating the rollout of its 800,000th mass-produced vehicle, NIO also stated that the ONVO L90 is undergoing accelerated production and active stockpiling under the highest standards to ensure “delivery upon launch and scale upon delivery.”
It is worth noting that this production ramp-up benefits from core technical capabilities of the Sky·OS vehicle-wide operating system, as well as the TianTan AI Quality Inspection System, which enables automatic inspection of over 1,000 vehicle functions within three minutes.
According to the plan, the ONVO L90 will officially launch on July 31 and begin full-scale delivery starting August 1. As of July 23, nearly 600 ONVO L90 test drive vehicles have arrived at over 400 ONVO showrooms and city exhibition centers across 140 cities.
