In Q2, WeRide generated revenue of ¥127 million ($17.78 million), a 60.8% year-on-year increase. Robotaxi revenue reached ¥45.9 million ($6.43 million).
On July 31, autonomous driving company WeRide (Nasdaq: WRD) released its financial results for the second quarter of 2025.
According to the report, the company recorded total revenue of ¥127 million ($17.78 million), marking a 60.8% year-on-year growth.
The Robotaxi segment emerged as the most prominent contributor, generating ¥45.9 million ($6.43 million) in revenue, representing an 836.7% year-on-year increase—the highest single-quarter record in the company’s history. Robotaxi revenue accounted for 36.1% of total revenue, the highest quarterly proportion since 2021. The gross margin also rose by 40.6% year-on-year.

Behind these numbers is WeRide’s continued advancement in commercial pilots and technology deployment across both domestic and international markets:
- In Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, the fleet has tripled in size since the beginning of the year, with expanded operating areas.
- In Dubai, pilot testing has begun in collaboration with Uber and local transportation authorities, with trial operations expected to start within 2025.
- In Saudi Arabia, WeRide obtained the first autonomous driving license in the country, launched a Robotaxi pilot program, deployed Robobuses, and introduced the S1 unmanned street sweeper.
- In Singapore, the company initiated Southeast Asia’s first fully driverless Robobus operation.
- In Paris, France, WeRide has provided services to the French Open for two consecutive years and launched the city’s first night-time autonomous shuttle project.
- In Shanghai, China, WeRide empowered Chery’s Robotaxi CER, enabling the first-ever global application of the model.
- In Guangzhou, its W5 unmanned logistics vehicle received Huangpu District’s first road test license for unmanned equipment.

This series of breakthroughs has helped WeRide build a more scalable and sustainable business model globally. Notably, the company now holds autonomous driving licenses in six countries, making it the only company in the industry to achieve this level of certification coverage.
While expanding its international footprint, WeRide is also strengthening its technology foundation. The financial report highlighted the launch of the HPC 3.0 high-performance computing platform, co-developed with Lenovo, featuring NVIDIA’s Thor X chip. With 2,000 TOPS of computing power, this platform is now integrated into the next-generation Robotaxi model GXR, leading to a 50% reduction in the overall autonomous driving system cost.

CEO Tony Han described Q2 as a “key global breakthrough period,” while CFO Jennifer Li acknowledged that “Robotaxi has become the core engine of revenue growth.”
