Xiaomi EV Surpasses 30,000 Deliveries in July, Breaking Monthly Record

Bloomberg Intelligence predicts Xiaomi will surpass Tesla in China’s auto sales by 2026.

On August 1, Xiaomi founder Lei Jun announced that Xiaomi deliveries exceeded 30,000 units in July.

Compared with over 25,000 units delivered in June, this represents a month-on-month increase of about 20%, continuing a steady upward trend.

Xiaomi sold a total of 157,926 vehicles in the first half of 2025. With the addition of July’s figures, the company has achieved over half of its annual target of 350,000 units.

Monthly data shows that the SU7 remains the main sales driver, with a total of 145,499 units delivered in the first half of the year, broken down as follows: January: 22,897 units; February: 23,728 units; March: 29,244 units; April: 28,585 units; May: 28,013 units; June: 23,225 units.

The newly unveiled YU7 received 240,000 pre-orders within 18 hours of launch—surpassing the Model Y’s six-month sales in China during the same period.

In the first half of 2025, Xiaomi ranked fourth among Chinese EV startups, behind Leapmotor (174,000 units), Li Auto (167,000 units), and XPeng (163,000 units), but ahead of NIO (89,000 units).

Notably, Bloomberg Intelligence predicts that Xiaomi is on track to surpass Tesla in China by 2026. Its forecast puts Xiaomi’s full-year vehicle shipments at 782,000 units, marking triple-digit percentage growth. At that point, the auto division could contribute as much as 30% to Xiaomi’s total revenue.

Currently, Xiaomi’s growth bottleneck is shifting toward production capacity. Some models now have delivery lead times of up to one year. The company’s Phase 1 plant in Yizhuang, Beijing is running at full capacity, while Phase 2 (designed for 300,000 units/year) is scheduled to begin operations in June 2025. A Phase 3 plant is also in the planning stages, potentially bringing Xiaomi’s total production capacity to 450,000 units.

Lei Jun has stated that in the short term, Xiaomi will focus on domestic deliveries, with international sales expected to begin in 2027.
